The groups and individuals who push gender reassignment on children in our schools, and anyone else who is trying to normalize behavior that shouldn’t be tolerated, is unacceptable in my mind," Woods said in a statement.

You know, I can't help but agree.

Watching Conservatives assign children gender based on their sex when they're too young to understand what is being done to them is disgusting, and we shouldn't be tolerating the normalization of disgusting, volatile, and hateful behaviour like that of the senator's.

Also, who are the people that they think are "pushing gender reassignment" on children? I've never seen it, but I would guess that would fall under child abuse if it were indeed happening. Child abuse is already illegal, so what's going on these last couple years? Wouldn't the team of doctors and presumably at least one psychologist visit catch on to something funny happening after meeting with someone who is being forced into a gender change?

They absolutely would, and the whole forced transgender thing is "fake news" as they call it. I'd guess maybe it happened once, and the Conservatives latched on to it as the next hot topic to piss their cult off with. And here we are.

People deserve the right to live their lives as they feel appropriate, and doubly so when it's not hurting anybody else. Wish they'd just leave my transgender homies alone.

It never happened once, kids and teens just saw people being happy transgender folks and decided that hey, maybe this might be a thing that's good for me too. And then it was. Republicans, in classic alt-right fashion, saw someone being happy and immediately came to attempt to crush it under their boot. Healthy sexuality and exploration of the self became "they're out here choppin' dicks off your sons! Right now! It's happening!"

Sounds like he deserves a good old fashioned public beating

[–] Gorram_Reavers@lemmy.world 31 points 8 months ago

That's my belief too. And I stand by it

This guy—this guy right here—is a prime example of why I'm not just an atheist but an antitheist.

... Is filth

[–] Icalasari@kbin.social 30 points 8 months ago (1 children)

These guys are getting more and more brazen

Because they have received no consequences.

It's what their voters want.

Sounds like it's high time someone ran that filth out of town. His family should be begging him to leave if there are any decent people around him.

The states in the south are plagued with many of these types of assholes. The rise of the christian zealots has invaded all levels of government.

Good. I stand by my belief that Christians are absolute pieces of shit that should have their churches taxed into fucking bankruptcy and their assets seized for being fucking liars who, for 2000 years have been taking advantage of the poor.

The difference is, he's allowed to call for the death of Innocent people and hide behind his gold plated cross like a fucking coward.

Meanwhile, nobody is allowed to say a goddamn thing about his church diddling kids and getting away with it, because they're federally protected. And for what? What has a single goddamn Christian done for society? The crusades, the inquisition, the Holocaust.... And now all they do is go on "mission trips" to poor countries to get a picture of themselves holding a shovel. The lot of them are as useful as taste buds on an asshole.

It's all a goddamn show. Not one of them actually believe a fucking word of the Bible. They all know they're collectively full of shit and just going with the motions hoping no one calls them out on it.

I was homeless for a year, through no fault of my own. I had a full-time job and lived in my car, occasionally renting an Airbnb to shower. I went to every single Christian Church in my home town trying to get help and every last one of them turned me away. I couldn't even get them to give be canned food.

I went to a Jewish synagogue and they fed me and one of the rabbis let me wash my clothes at his house.

That's what good Christians are. They'll keep up appearances for that tax break, but anything past that and they're full of shit. Always have been.

"A faction emerged within the (Republican) party characterized by hate and divisiveness, overshadowing the principles the party once held dear," Osborn said in a statement. "We should rise above spewing hate and legislating condemnation for every citizen who does not look like us, vote like us worship like us or identify or love like us."

Oh, bullshit. That's exactly who and what you are. That's why you joined the party. That's why you haven't left it. You're not fooling anyone.
