I received a job offer of net salary around 2400 euro (28500 SEK) I'm not europe and I will have to relocate to gothenburg, is this a fair salary I feel it low

Gross salary is 38000 SEK

What is the amount of salary I should ask for if I'm going to negotiate

I'm a mechatronics engineer - working in embedded systems department for automotive companies

Net salary isn’t usually used when describing your salary. That being said, 28k net is what, 40-42k gross maybe? That’s pretty good for a junior engineering job. The salary growth year over year is usually quite good for juniors too.

Sometimes it is used when on international assignments. I have plenty of clients that are on net contracts and the gross does not matter to them at all.

Gross is around 38000 SEK, and it wasn't mentioned the salary growth. What is the average percentage of salary increase in sweden ?

Vastly different depending on the field you work in, and how long you've worked there. In engineering, salary growth y/y is usually larger in the first few years for juniors, before stagnating a bit. If you do your job well, I think you can expect maybe 8-12% increase the first year or two. After that, the big salary jumps come from switching employer

Engineer in what? Civil engineering? Electrical Engineering? Software Engineering? Chemical Engineering? Mechanical Engineering?

Always say gross salary also better to use SEK as we dont use euro in Sweden. Currently 2400€ is 28500 SEK but that's bound to be like 26500 or less in a year or two.

I didn't catch your point why it bound to be 26500 in year or two could you explain more ?

The exchange rate is shite during economic troubles as the ones we're in now. When that is eventually over in a year or two the exchange rate will return to "normal" which favours the SEK and not the EUR like atm. Which means 2400€ will be less in SEK down the road.

You're getting a job at Volvo? Don't turn any other offers down, they've been firing half their engineering staff every other year for a decade now.

It's a standard starting junior engineer salary in Sweden.

Taxes in Sweden are high, relative are wages low, cost of living is high, expensive housing, and the currency is weak; so if you can go anywhere else I recommend it.
