It's always been clear. The method was scientifically established long long ago. The UN wasn't even supposed to endorse this one.

It's just that there is this conspiracy theory from activists, and mass media favoring fear-mongering, just like Japanese ones did with cervical cancer vaccines because profits and ignorance.

At this point, what Kishida is doing is whatever PR through authority that can open the ears of the idiots. Because the mass population on east Asia (including those in Japan) won't stop listening to conspiracy theorists.

Its basically clean now.

As long as the water is treated properly irradiated water basically just has Deuterium and Tritium in it. I mean, I don't want to drink a glass of heavy water but putting this back in the ocean is not going to change the current concentrations in any meaningful way. What's the concern here? If they didn't filter out radioactive materials, sure that would be an issue but that is not the case.
