I don't get it. Took my daughter today and we both loved the movie. The story was good, characters were good, had some jokes we both laughed at. I got choked up a few times near the end (I'm a softie, not abnormal for me), and the animation was outstanding. Beautiful movie to look at. My daughter (9) also loved it, said on the way out that she hoped they'd do a sequel. I do feel like the advertising didn't do a great job of telling me what the movie would be about, though. There was a lot more to it than just a young romance. Thumbs up for me overall.

The comments of the article make some good points too. The premise is both more complicated and less interesting than the more we'll received titles, and it just seems much less fleshed out.
One of the comments mentioned price, that's the reason I don't see pretty much anything right now. Tickets in my area are $20~$30, so even with one kid a night out is going to cost north of $100. Why go see a movie that might suck in a theater when I can just catch it on a streaming service after a few months? I'll save the theater for something I absolutely must see, which isn't much nowadays
The article calls out price and quality.... Ticket prices are super high... and quality is super low. I can honestly tell you there have been a small handful of movies that have been released in the past few years that MIGHT be worth the cost of taking my family out to the theater.
Have a passable home set up.. and the snacks are cheaper
