My goal is just to have a community where people can go and see what new game news is out for the day and comment on it.
Other communities:
dsogaming is one of the most garbage "gaming" news sites, they are just a clickbaity website that does 0 research on their articles. I appreciate that nanoufo wants to keep the community alive posting a lot, but the amount of bullshit he shares from shitty websites is amazing.
I know John from way before he started DSOGaming or english articles. I do not agree that he is particularly clickbaity, nor do I agree that he does 0 reasearch on his articles. I am not reading DSOG often, but I remember a lot of well written and researched articles from him
So much of the stuff posted on lemmy is just garbage, and would have been better off written by ChatGPT.
Correction : So much stuff posted across the internet nowadays are garbage and click baits nowadays . It's not just on lemmy, it's everywhere.
Link aggregators are supposed to help filter the crap out.
Yeah, but no need for it to be posted here in such volumes though. Reddit generally was good for filtering it out.
Lack of moderation, and even if one instance does put in the effort to curate - you just get the link from a different instance anyway because the OP cross posts to a dozen of them.
That's true.
Why the fuck is this guy interviewing someone who doesn't even work for the developer about a game that is still years away from coming out?
You're engaging, so they did their job of providing sufficient clickbait
It probably simplifies several parts of the development and release workflow immensely to stagger the releases like this, and since it has never affected the sales of the PC version negatively then why not do it I guess
I can only speak for myself, but I completely passed on GTA5 because they took so damn long to bring it to pc, then once it was, the only "sale" they would have on it was when it was bundled with those shark cards.
They did give it away on Epic at one point. But in spite of having such amazing handcrafted worlds I can't believe how shitty their business practices are.
Because people would complain that the shitshow makes a pc sound like a PS 4/Jet engine
