This plan means COS has to pay out $80 million in severance to SPS, AND refuse the $150 million offer from the province. The stupidest timeline.

So fucking dumb. And all the SPS who never wanted to be Mounties will likely get hired by municipal agencies, severance in hand.

The SPS who wouldn't/couldn't be mounties have the same options now as before Doug's debacle.

They have considerably better options now, as hiring a fully trained person is much cheaper and faster for a department. Surrey has just trained a lot of other cities’ cops for them.

Refuse the one-time 150m payout that would require them to pay far more every year after? Aside from math skills, what would possess them to turn down such a deal?

Where are they going to find the officers? Police recruitment across the country has been pretty shitty.
