Jerboa is a native-android client for Lemmy, built using the native android framework, Jetpack Compose.

Warning: You can submit issues, but between Lemmy and lemmy-ui, I probably won't have too much time to work on them. Learn jetpack compose like I did if you want to help make this app better.

Hamburger menu in the top left, then hit the down arrow to see "+ Add Account", hit that and then put in your info and it should log you in.

Suggestion for the devs: Make it easier to find! (I did, eventually, but it was frustrating. And I've been into computers since the 80s.) Don't hide it inside a hamburger thing, or at least update the "login first" messages to explain where to do so.

I'm on Android. On the main screen if you swipe right from the left hand side of the screen it'll bring up a settings screen. At the top there's a drop down box, if you click in there you can put your account details in and log in.

Then if you get new accounts on other instances you can put them in as well to jump around between them easier (I think, I only just started using it today as well!)

Hope that helps

are people able to log into a kbin.social account with Jerboa?

No, Lemmy and kbin mostly share a federation protocol, but they are different applications with different client-access apis. Kbin has it own app, and you can't swap them around.
