You talked Here about not wanting to manage a Open source project which I can totally understand. That's why I wanted to ask If you could maybe make the source available? The only thing you would need to is to upload the code somewhere. No managing, no pull requests, no nothing.
Thank you for creating such a awesome lemmy client!

One thing the dev mentioned in their comments was that they wanted to keep control over where/how the app is distributed - unfortunately making it source available still makes it so people can go and publish it elsewhere.

Which is not to say that it's impossible as it currently is, but it would make it easier.

(Even if the license disallows it, plenty of people don't listen to licenses)

Dont see a problem with doing that. I can also just upload the apk somewhere. no need to compile it myself

Sure, like I said, it's not impossible as it currently stands. Source availability makes it easier for people who want to say, push ads into it (or even malicious code) their "own" app name though.

Couldn't have said it better myself. This is correct. With the current setup someone can post the app somewhere else but it is difficult for them to modify it. I'm ok with this. I want to avoid people modifying the app and then re-posting it with the modifications.
