This legendary reference has been around since 1975. The Jargon File contains a lot of hacker jargon ('programmer slang'?) and just as much hacker humor. Added to by hundreds over the decades, it got fairly huge.

In the 90s it was edited and updated by the legendary ESR (Eric S Raymond), author of famed 1999 book 'The Cathedral and the Bazaar.'

The web version linked above groups the jargon by category, If you'd prefer the text version 4.4.7 of the Jargon File, it's here: ( https://jargon-file.org/archive/jargon-4.4.7.dos.txt ) Older versions can also be found online.
