No orange jumpsuit. No prisoner number. No height lines in the background.

Very unsatisfying mugshot.

[–] Alto@kbin.social 35 points 1 year ago

Most mugshots aren't like the movies. You shpuld treat them exactly how you would anyone else. No better, no worse

[–] FoxBJK@midwest.social 18 points 1 year ago

Like the other guy pointed out this is a fairly standard shot. Whatever you’re wearing that day, blank background, shot in a couple seconds. The height markers and holding a placard with your name are things that were phased out a long time ago.

this is more ghoulish 👉

look at her! She is happy and proud

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 13 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Ok. That proves it to me. It's not the camera. His eyes are red from being either shitfaced or seriously hung over.

[–] June@lemm.ee 4 points 1 year ago

Or from bawling like the little baby he is.

[–] JustZ@lemmy.world 11 points 1 year ago (1 children)

She's dumb. It's cognitive dissonance. She's literally too stupid to understand whats happened. She still thinks Trump won and it will be just a little while longer before it's proven.

She's relying on her supporters to say she's a political prisoner rather than the voter fraudster that her party regularly lambasts.

I think it's just the energy she feasted on from twelve newborns this morning. That's why the Christo-fascists don't want abortion, have you seen how difficult it is to get babies for vampiric practices at the minute?

At least I can muster a bit of sympathy for why Oswald turned into Penguin. Guliani turned into Ghouliani only because of greed and dementia.

[–] RoyalEngineering@lemmy.world 8 points 1 year ago

Ghouliani

😂

[–] grue@lemmy.ml 2 points 1 year ago

Guliani turned into Ghouliani only because of greed and dementia.

This incorrectly implies he wasn't already a ghoul even back when he had all his faculties.

The comment refers to this image :

Penguin from Batman

someone should go up to him and say "I don't believe it!"

Dude was also a fascist creep.

E: Typo, was supposed to say always. He was a fascist creep, and he still is too.

[–] killa44@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

Still is too.

America's Ghoul. Looks more like a weird yearbook photo.

[–] dangblingus@lemmy.world 16 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Why is he wearing a Flag pin? Sad and pathetic.

[–] AngryCommieKender@lemmy.world 7 points 1 year ago (2 children)

It's common among politicians and LEOs, not just veterans.

[–] Cethin@lemmy.zip 27 points 1 year ago

It's common for people making an appeal to nationalism instead of an actual argument.

[–] Ghostalmedia@lemmy.world 6 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Yeah, every politician really doubled down on flag pins after 9/11. It never really went away. Almost all of them do it or are afraid of being called unamerican if they don’t do it.

[–] frezik@midwest.social 2 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

Obama went without one a single time in the 2008 campaign and got lambasted for it. It was never a thing before 9/11, but now it's just another bit the flag waving crayon eaters of the Republican party can use to pretend they're the only patriots.

Reminds me of the AIDs ribbon episode of Seinfeld. "Who!? Who won't wear the ribbon!?"

[–] Blackmist@feddit.uk 13 points 1 year ago

And this isn't even the guiltiest he's looked.

Him in Borat 2 was creepy as fuck, and you know that's not the first time he's done that.

[–] M0oP0o@mander.xyz 10 points 1 year ago

I mean, is this man not a fair (if unkind) summary of the US currently?

[–] Slab_Bulkhead@lemmy.world 10 points 1 year ago

"we stand on a great threshold! It's okay to be scared; many of you won't be coming back. Thanks to Batman, the time has come to punish all God's children! 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th-born! Why be biased? Male and female! Hell, the sexes are equal with their erogenous zones blown sky high! Forward march! The liberation of Gotham has begun!" - Rudy Giuliani

[–] HellAwaits@lemm.ee 10 points 1 year ago (1 children)

The fact that he was ever called that just shows we were far gone as a country way, way before all this.

[–] Stalinwolf@lemmy.ca 7 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

It's my understanding that he wasn't even a good or respected mayor before 9/11. He was largely disliked. But the rest of the country just started garbling his balls because be was mayor when the planes hit.

When it happened, his first thought was probably, "What luck!"

[–] frezik@midwest.social 2 points 1 year ago

Before then, he was seen nationwide as centrist Republican who would go along with Democrats on a lot of issues.

So, how's that going for us?

[–] Gradually_Adjusting@lemmy.world 9 points 1 year ago (2 children)

If he had stopped after 9-11 he could still be the hero mayor today.

[–] weedazz@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Why doesnt Don the Con have to take one of these again?

[–] exegete@lemmy.world 13 points 1 year ago

Today he’ll get one

[–] AllNewTypeFace@leminal.space 3 points 1 year ago

You can see the Conservative Moral Authority crackling right off him.

[–] TheProtagonist@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I wonder how this one respected politician could end up as a pathetic figure spreading lies about a “stolen presidency” next to a porn shop in order to support a notorious liar and former reality TV host?

[–] III@lemmy.world 9 points 1 year ago (2 children)

The "respect" was nothing more than him being an opportunist in regards to a national tragedy. He was always this person - it just took a while for people to see it.

What a ghoul.

[–] Hazdaz@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago (3 children)

It is our own fault for continuing to support this corrupt party!

Seems to not matter how badly these Republicans fuck up, the American people are ready to give them power again come the next election cycle. It is like we have collective amnesia or something and we can't remember how bad Republicans are at managing. They freely admit they despise the big bad government, so why the fuck do we think they would do a good job at running it?!

[–] Anticorp@lemmy.ml 2 points 1 year ago

I'm pretty sure most Americans here don't support this party, so the term "we" is loose at best.

[–] TheProtagonist@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

The whole election system in America is flawed, this “the winner takes it all” system combined with the electoral college, which can turn out to ignore the majority vote is laid out to foster a “them against us” mentality. And before you let the other side win (“bohooo, they are all communists…”), you’d rather give criminal your vote. Coalitions and compromises like in other countries with a “majority system” are not very likely in this constellation.

[–] sunbeam60@lemmy.one 2 points 1 year ago

Psst! The problem is FPTP!

If a normal, proportionally elected parliament, there would be room for an alternative that vouches for the same opinion, but due to their slightly lower level of corruption would be seen an alternative for people who votes republican. Thus, through a free market of ideas (something ‘muricans ought to like) the party that was abandoned by theirs electors would clean up their act and come back stronger.

It works in almost every other democracy!!

PS: you’d probably have to switch your presidential election system to use Approval or Condorcet voting systems.
