Tbh I'm more exited about the Deckard and its controller then the steam controller. I wonder what features it will have :3

Deckard is rumoured to be the standalone VR headset (Steam Deck on your face).

Roy is rumoured to be the VR controllers.

Steam Controller 2 is the second coming of Jesus or something.

I want Deckard already. Been waiting on that since I don't want to get Facebook VR, and hoping by the time Deckard comes out there will be more VR titles releasing from Valve since other than Alyx and Best Saber not much interests me.

standalone? as in something like the occulus quest?

that would be awesome,
even if that means that the steam controler remains dead.

They're doing both. A steam Controller 2, and a new controller for their standalone VR headset. And yes, rumors are it'll be untethered like the Quest

I'm sorry what the heck is that Blade Runner reference.

Edit after skimming the article: It's internal codenames for the controllers I think.

Here I thought it was a Rick and Morty reference. Roy 2!!

The VR community has been hearing about this Deckard project for years. It’s been a long wait.

fuck yeah i loved the first one.

im intrested to see what they change,
i predict that the controls will look less like the original and more like the steamdeck controls

I hope it's mostly an evolution maybe with some extra buttons on the back like the steam deck.

On a personal level, I always thought controllers with 6 face buttons instead of 4 needed to be more of a thing. I know the original Xbox tried with its black and white buttons, but I was thinking more a traditional A, B, C, X, Y, Z setup like the SEGA Saturn

i know some modern controllers with 6 buttons,
like the "hori fighting commander"
but those are pretty specialized, since they leave out the right stick,
and they usually just move R1 and r2 to the front
