The 6 MW chargers will be used to charge the huge 1.9 megawatt hour batteries that drive the power systems for the massive 240 tonne battery electric haul trucks. It says it will be able to do that in just half an hour.

That's going to murder the battery lifespan. Why not make swappable batteries, you get a 10min turn around while also greatly extending battery life. On a machine that size you have the room to make things more serviceable :/
How the hell do we charge that thing ? With a nuclear reactor ?
One modern wind turbine on full capacity per charger...
How many 240t dumper does a mine need?
Depends on the mine. That's equivalent to a CAT 793, which is their second biggest one. Larger operations can have a fleet of 50 or more trucks. Smaller ones are in the 10-20 range. It all depends on the grade of ore, and how much overburden they need to get out of the way to get to it.
I like the 30 minute charge time. But how many hours does 1 charge last?
Great point. They don't say, but it would have to be economical for mining companies to be half interested
If i know anything from the videos of Adam something about the Tesla truck, that truck's going tobe very inefficient compared to petrol, but cool shit
