The Israeli army chief said Wednesday that the military is preparing for a possible ground operation in Lebanon as Hezbollah hurled dozens of projectiles into Israel, including a missile aimed at Tel Aviv that was the militant group’s deepest strike yet.

Addressing troops on the northern border, Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi said the latest Israeli airstrikes were designed to ”prepare the ground for your possible entry and to continue degrading Hezbollah.”

In an apparent reference to the missile aimed at Tel Aviv, he said: “Today, Hezbollah expanded its range of fire, and later today, they will receive a very strong response. Prepare yourselves.”

Ground Invasion. Call it what it is. Lebanon is it's own sovereign nation and Israel wants to invade to "take out Hezbollah" and in the mean time steal more land.

I bet "Hezbollah" and "Hamas" will have their final bases deep inside Iran.

You gotta hand it to those US "Defense" industry lobbyists. The US is now shoveling money towards that industry to support both sides of the "it's OK to invade our neighbors" argument. In Israel's case I guess it helps that that country also has lobbyists.

No, it's much more mundane; Netanyahu just wants to stay out of prison.

That may be his motivation, but there are thousands enabling this genocide.

I mean that's legit why a significant number of US voters supports Israel.
