As of press time, Tomlin had browsed the Steam store while riding to work and bought Hi-Fi Rush, Dave the Diver, and Street Fighter 6, before ultimately just booting up Vampire Survivors again.

Didn't expect to be called out like that first thing in the morning holy shit.

ooof that hurt.

It really is an amazing device. It's so easy to buy new games to neglect, anywhere - on the bus, on the toilet, while the wife is in labor (don't judge, just practicing my neglecting skills,)... You name it. The controls and trackpads are just so well designed for hitting the checkout button and collecting dust. Sniffs vent

Sniffs vent

That smell is awesome!

It's an uncanny instinct I had as soon as I booted it for the first time. Can't explain why, just did.

Excellent idea. Dropped the ball hard on that title though. They almost had it right in the intro. Steam deck allows area man to neglect library on the go, or something like that.

I’d never really game while on the go, but I’d like the mobility to game around the house. In bed, the kitchen, living room. Not tethered to a desktop.

I love laying on the couch with mine, cat in lap.

Same experience with my switch and bed just yesterday.

I like taking breaks and walking around.

I also like turn based games because I can do that at any time without pausing.

Exactly my thing. I have probably 4x the play time logged from taking breaks.

“Bah, I’m gonna go mow the lawn then kill this guy” “Ok he’s dead, I’m gonna run the dishwasher. Who’s next?”

Etc etc

A game I've been playing recently is Old World. It's by one of the main devs of Civ III and Civ IV. It's basically Civ but the tech tree is a little random, 1 unit per tile, you control a ruler and their family, and there's a lot of random story moments that'll shape the game as you play.

I’m on the switch at the moment, but I’m playing disco elysium and after that I have divinity original sin2. Looking forward to both.

I usually think hard drive news articles are just bad and dumb and corny 90% of the time but this one isnt bad. Maybe because it hits home.
