I'm using 12.3 on Windows, and the version I grabbed didn't require me to do anything other than mount the iso, and run the installer.
YMMV, no clue about OS X support, no clue about version 13.

No worries there. I don’t even need the new one as long as it supports my camera.
I known its not answering the question but why not use an open source alternative like darktable. On one hand you'll have to learn a different workflow but on the other you shouldn't have to jump through hoops to install and use it.
Because Darktable is that kind of open-source app that’s designed in an incomprehensible way and is almost unusable. And, because anytime I can pirate from Adobe, I’m gonna do it 👍
