It's time again to tell us what you have been playing...

Bonus question: what was the last game you completed?

Factorio. Always Factorio.

Last game completed; (All but one achievement) is Powerwash Simulator.

[–] thegreatloofa@feddit.uk 1 points 1 year ago

The Gold Standard achievement is sitting there mocking me too...

Baldurs Gate 3, obviously. I play D&D every week, I grew up with Baldurs Gate 1 & 2 and I loved Divinity Original Sin (and it's sequel). I am really enjoying this one.

I have completely lost interest in Diablo 4 now, which seems so, so shallow in comparison.

[–] Finnbot@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

I’m really loving BG3 also. Larian have smashed it right oot the park.

Everything else has fallen by the wayside. Although, to be fair I did lose most of my interest in Dave the Diver as soon as I finished the main mission.

A few weeks ago I commented on one of these posts saying I’d played cyberpunk for so long that I none of my games were interesting and I’d been flicking through stuff like RDR2 and transport fever but wasn’t getting invested.

2 weeks later all I’ve been playing is RDR2, it’s so immersive now that I’ve got a new GPU and I can max out the settings in 4K.

[–] B0NK3RS@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

I go though stages with RDR2 of playing it solid for a week or 2 and then not touching it for months. I'm still nowhere near completing the story as I spend most of the time just doing random stuff and taking it very slow.

Playing Breath of the Wild after finishing the main story of Tears of the Kingdom. Got bored with BotW the first time I played it and am giving it another go after really enjoying the sequel.

[–] vassie@lemm.ee 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I fell off Breath of the Wild pretty quickly, but am really enjoying Tears of the Kingdom.

How are you finding it going back to BotW?

[–] hilly@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

It's weird the things I thought would be there like caves and wells. Combat feels much more difficult without fuse and some of the shrines are really tough. Enjoying it but I feel like I might fall off again at some point.

Been (very slowly) playing through the Uncharted games over the last couple of months after being given a friends old PS4. Hated the first, but the second has been pretty fun so far.

Also bought a replacement battery for my Switch, which I’m hoping to get a chance to fit this weekend. After 5 years the original one doesn’t hold much juice.

[–] B0NK3RS@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I have the Uncharted Trilogy from when it was given away free during the pandemic and I agree that the first is a slog at times. I should probably skip it and start the 2nd game to see if it's any better.

[–] lewis@lemmy.lewisdale.dev 1 points 1 year ago

That’s what I ended up doing. I got most of the way through, but it was just wave after wave of enemies and got really boring.

The second one is immediately way more fun

[–] vassie@lemm.ee 1 points 1 year ago

Good luck with the Switch, I had to replace the fan on mine. You have you take off quite a lot to get to it! The iFixit guides are great.

Started Death Stranding Director's Cut last night. Played it a year or two ago for like an hour so can't remember anything bar the very basic premise. Also picked up Chivalry 2 in August's Humble Monthly which seems rather fun, despite me sucking at it.

On the topic of Humble Monthly, Disco Elysium is included this month. If you don't own it, I highly recommend it - unbelievable game

[–] B0NK3RS@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Death Stranding is a legit top 5 game of the decade for me. Loved it so much but also it is the hardest game to explain to people...

Did my first sanctioned iRacing event last night. Will be putting up a video on !simracing@lemmy.ml tonight hopefully.

[–] Finnbot@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Spent £350 quid on a wheel a couple of years ago because I really liked the idea. Turns out I’m shit at driving games though so it gathered dust the whole time.

Last straw was when my youngest was absolutely smashing forza 5 and putting me to shame.

[–] B0NK3RS@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I used to be in to sim racing in the early-mid 2000s but nowadays it's a whole new level above what we could do. I've never tried iRacing myself but I do follow a couple of streamers.

[–] itsmikeyd@lemmy.ml 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

If you fancy dipping your toes back in to it, feel free to join us. We have an iRacing league for beginners, and a fortnightly hotlap challenge in Assetto Corsa.

If you want a copy of AC, let me know. I have a spare key going nowhere fast!

[–] B0NK3RS@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Thanks for the offer but I just stick to Dirt Rally and driving virtual trucks in ETS2/ATS now.

[–] vassie@lemm.ee 3 points 1 year ago

Bought Brotato for the Switch, "just one more run!" It's one of those and it's really good!

Played some Remnant 2 with friends the other night, think we need to reroll, The Red Prince is brutal!

Also kinda got into Skyrim, never played it before, I'm enjoying the open world and exploring, will probably uninstall it when Starfield comes out.

[–] slazer2au@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

~~Fac~~Cractorio

Had some fun with the new patch for Zero Sievert recently too.

[–] siata@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

I'm still playing Brotato and have also started Sunless Skies. It runs pretty well on steam deck with a community controller layout. oh and the last game completed was Stray. I didn't get all of the achievements but it was a lovely game

[–] leraje@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

I can't play games :(

A few years ago I had labyrinthitis and when I got over it I found I couldn't play games or even watch other people playing games. Something in the way the things move on screen gives me really bad nausea and vertigo, like motion sickness I guess.

TV and cinema is no problem, it's just games.

[–] B0NK3RS@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Football Manager 2012 made a suprise appearance for me. I wouldn't even call myself a football fan but I do love a good management game and 2012 doesn't have all the convoluted crap of the newest versions.

Re-volt, racing RC cars is fun. I found a community patch/update so it runs on modern hardware and it's been fun.

I'm not really one to ever finish games so it's probably a single digit completion rate! That's especially true now compared to the older generations of consoles.

[–] Finnbot@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

FM is one of those games I really wish I could play. Seems like the ultimate RPG. I’m just gash at all things football related and don’t have a fucking clue, so inevitably lose interest after getting pumped again and again.

[–] B0NK3RS@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

I exclusivly play in the lower leagues and that puts more emphasis on the non pitch related stuff.

Another favourite is this,

Software Inc

[–] onslaught@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Pavlov VR - but I've been playing this for the last 5 years

As a side distraction I've been playing boomer shooters with the current favourite being "turbo overkill"

[–] Finnbot@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

My youngest fucking LOVES that game. That and Boneworks. My rift 2 cable is jank though where it connects to the headset so it’s fucked.

I miss Beat Sabre so much as well - haven’t loved a game like that since guitar hero 2!

[–] echodot@feddit.uk 2 points 1 year ago

Such a stupidly fun game. I will never not become a piller in prop hunt on the office map. I'm absolutely huge and no one can ever find me.

[–] alchemy88@lemmy.team 1 points 1 year ago

I'm really enjoying High on Life. It's completely nuts but very good fun!

[–] Tippon@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Overlord: Raising Hell.

I've been playing it on and off for years, but I've usually only been able to play for an hour or so at a time, then not play for months. I lost track of the storyline, and then forgot how to play properly.

I've been able to play for a few hours at a time for the last few days, and it's been great :D

Drakan - Order of the flame was the last game I completed

[–] gnutrino@programming.dev 1 points 1 year ago

Dark Souls II right now, easily the weakest of the series IMO but still a fun enough experience. Not coincidentally the last game I completed was Dark Souls I as I'm doing a full run through of the Souls.

[–] meejle@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Currently in that "trying to decide what to play next" headspace... but for a bonus point, I think the thing I completed last was Oxenfree II.

Anyone else wishing they could buy the entire Steam Visual Novel Fest? 🥺

I picked up Who's Lila?, Coffee Talk, and Tyrion Cuthbert: Attorney of the Arcane (despite not really being able to afford to 😬) and wish-listed a bunch of other stuff.

[–] B0NK3RS@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

How was Oxenfree II for you? The first game is high on my favourites list but so far I haven't got round to playing the new one.

[–] meejle@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

It's unsurprisingly one of those "can't say much about it without ruining it" games, but suffice to say:

It was very good and you should play it, but it was always going to be difficult for it to top the first one because you go into it having a fairly good idea of what's going on.

Also I just think this genre maybe works better with teenage characters than grown-ups, but that's just me. 😁
