So far so good! Lots of induction and training to do. Will take up the rest of the week pretty much.

It's so nice to be back at work πŸŽ‰

Went really well!

Tired but had a pretty good day. A lot of induction and training which is to be expected.

Got to chat to the owner and he's a really nice guy.

No real complaints! ❀️

Tomorrow you get to play name roulette with the blur of faces

[–] Gibsonisafluffybutt@aussie.zone 10 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Lol too true. I remember 4 or 5 of the 40 or so.

Fuck it was just good to be away from the house. Cabin fever was fucking me up.

About to go at some gutters. Neighbours' big tree is overhanging the shed so they're always full. I like the tree and I'm fine cleaning it up (usually compost it) but he refused to pay for half the recently rebuilt fence so fuck him he's going get a lot of leaves on his side of the boundary. His leaves, my problem, soon to be his problem. He also has a pool so we're aiming there.

[–] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 7 points 3 months ago

Yeah, fuck him. I'd be doing the same.

Agreed. Worst of the worst of the normal body functions.

Ungrateful for drinking too much over the weekend and now I have the alcohol-sads

Bit of drama here: the shower which had been taking a little longer to drain but had been manageable suddenly... wasn't yesterday, so I had to find a plumber.

To cut a long story short, actually found one via the local FB group who said they could come today, and was actually able to come earlyish this morning - sorted things out in 15 minutes including putting the tap in the shower back on and only charged me the callout fee. And thanked me for not using Drano.

If I understand correctly, Gibson is angry that I wasn't home all day, but happy I'm here now dispensing scritches and brushies.

[–] Catfish@aussie.zone 7 points 3 months ago

Yeah, you’re going to have an adjustment thing. Lots of Pandemic pets are over anxious because they’ve never been alone.

Primary AND backup coffee places both closed for renovations?! You've gotta be shitting me. Any coffee recommendations around Melbourne central? Maccas just aint cutting it.

Had a weird dream: I let in a cockatoo (white sulphur crested) to chill with me while I slept, it wandered around on me/the bed as I drifted in and out of sleep, and it kept biting me - not so hard it hurt but like quite hard. It moved around biting my hands, legs, head. It then summoned a buddy cockatoo to chill and bite me more. Dream ended when one of the cockatoos peed on my face

[–] StudChud@aussie.zone 8 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Was this a wet dream? πŸ˜‚

[–] Force_majeure123@aussie.zone 9 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

Whoever told you I was sexually attracted to cockatoos was incorrect. I repeat. Incorrect.

Felt good today throwing leaves over the fence. It's so petty but I feel happy.

Two times this week I got the dreaded 'you seem like a great guy' from online dating apps.

The first had bad experiences in the past with guys who have the same first name as me.

The second we were going to meet up tomorrow for the first time but messaged today to say they've reconnected with a guy from their past so cya.

I understand the reasons but boy, with the lady who 'isn't one for pushing drugs on people, but I think you should take some of my medication', and one who said she just left a cult, online dating apps have not been fun (though, interesting).

[–] Nath@aussie.zone 8 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Words can't express how much I appreciate missing the whole online dating thing. I met my wife at a very unromantic bar. In the days when "we met online" was still a bit weird.

Everything about the dating apps sounds awful. Not just for men, if anything I think women probably have it worse.

Sounds like boyo needs a slap. He could kill someone. Suppose he won't be so blasΓ© about it then πŸ™„

Sitting at my desk and being blinded by the sun. This is wonderful.

Bet you guys can't guess the stock...

Holy fuck. Maybe don't push an update that isn't tested next time.

Pakige is waiting for me at the post office. After my Temu splurge I will have a few more coming over the next couple of weeks too. I am undermining my own decluttering progress. Hopefully a couple of things I have up for sale get bought soon and cancel it out a bit!

I just wanna move on cries

I think my matcha and coffee today was too much caffeine :(

[–] bull@aussie.zone 7 points 3 months ago (7 children)

In the office today. Nothing exciting going on. I do have a test iPhone 15 I'm considering trying out (moving my personal sim over to it) but I'm so embedded into the Android/Google ecosystem that I don't know if I can be bothered. Plus it'd render my smartwatch somewhat useless, at least while I use the iPhone which wouldn't be permanent.

I will likely change my mind in the next 15-20 minutes and just do it. I'm a wildcard.

Work day nearly over for me, can't wait to get out. Been a very busy day here and finally getting some quiet downtime for just a little bit.

Going to pick up some more pizzas at the supermarket because I feel like it, ha!

Gratitude thread πŸ¦“

Grateful for getting more sleep last night and my dog for being my weighted blanket for five seconds.

I also have this vague memory of someone recently telling me to hold on until spring and summer and I'll feel better. Or someone saying it to someone. No idea who, what, when, where or how, but it's nice to see a brighter sky.

[–] Duenan@aussie.zone 7 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Today I'm grateful for the sun being up and potentially being a warmer day.

Just makes it that little bit nicer today.
