The bowl may be moved 3 inches to the left. It's amazing how often that's rendered something effectively invisible for me. I think I could be holding the bowl and not know where it is.

Absolutely, but even worse is a slightly changed UI in an application or website. Or THE HORROR: Supermarket changed shelf of something.
