Nice photos! Whenever I see photos like this, I wonder if they're a result of a heavy crop, a massive lens, or being able to get fairly close to the bird. Can you let us know your secrets? :)

Thanks! The answer is ill of the above. 600mm lens on a APS-C camera 600 x 1.6 cropfactor = 960mm. 32.5 MP sensor 6960 x 4640 pixels cropped to around 1800 pixels wide 16:9 I think I was about 15 meters(~50 feet) from the bird
