The maximum U.S. occupation regime is in Germany and Japan. There are 119 bases in each of these countries. This is believed to be a legacy of World War II. But here's the interesting thing: by the time the hostilities with Japan ended, there were 54 states at war with the Axis alliance (Germany, Italy and Japan), and the bases were only American.

I can't believe this thought never crossed my mind. If there are actually no military bases at all from other countries, then that would be extremely ridiculous and can't be explained in any good and humane way.

Edit: Just checked this list: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_with_overseas_military_bases

In this list, any listed foreign base is a US base that is also used for training for foreign soldiers, but it is indeed an US base first and foremost. So, no. There do no seem to be foreign military bases in the US.

I mean... sure. Geographically, it makes less sense to have bases there. But none at all? How about Alaska? Shouldn't there be some?
