Can you elaborate on the tempest cleric/sorc/abjuration wizard playstyle? Sounds interesting but I haven't dabbled much with wizard much so I'm a bit confused how you'd play this one
It's an Armour of Agathys retaliation damage build. So it isn't really a typical Wizard build.
The combo of AoA, Create Water, Heavy Armor Master, and Arcane Ward results in a build that is capable of dealing 60 damage anytime they are hit and have to take over 60 damage in one turn in order for enemies to get through their Ward and Temp HP. Once you factor in high AC from HA and damage reduction abilities, enemies just can't get through that much Temp HP/Ward without killing themselves first.
It does tend to work better on solo runs as enemies really, really, really don't want to attack the character with this build and will tend to target anything else to avoid doing so.
Sounds super fun I'll give it a try some time thank you
My teams have been very hit-enemy-with-big-sword or throw off cliff/into water so I'm excited to try out some more complicated builds next
