I love how Putin talked shit about the instability of US democracy after the Jan 6 riot. Although it was admittedly a pretty embarrassing moment, it certainly wasn't a civil war. Enjoy that karma Putin

I mean, Jan 6 was a coup attempt, just a shitty one. Don't forget that the "riot" wasn't just a spur of the moment thing; it was orchestrated and planned with the "tours" the day before, the suspiciously small Capitol Police force on duty that day (compared e.g. to the BLM protests the summer before), the Secret Service attempt to get rid of Pence and subsequent coverup, etc.

I hadn't heard about the secret service and pence, have some more details on that?

Without looking anything up, some secret service guy told pence he needed to get in a car to be driven away to safety, which would mean he couldn't certify the election. Lucky he refused.
