Sorry, I'll get right on fixing that for you. I'm obviously responsible.
Edit: but honestly, is shaming me into voting going to make the system better or is it just to make you feel better about the broken system?
If you go vote, then yes, it has a chance to make the system better. It's not guaranteed, but nothing is.
Look, if every American goes out and votes in a free and fair election and we still get stuck with a fascist regime, fair enough, I'll just leave. I can't ask for more than that from the voting public. But when more than half of America doesn't vote and then we get stuck with a fascist regime, I won't abide that. We can and should shame non-voters for that. Your voice matters, and if you won't grasp that power for yourself, the rest of us will bully you into it because your apathy detrimentally affects all of us.
Look, I agree with you, but up to a point. I can barely navigate my own life and I'm responsible for yours? No thank you. I didn't vote for Kang, I wasn't gonna vote for Kodos, and I do not see how any result could possibly be my fault. The ancestors agreed to let fascism rise before I was a single cell in mom's developing uterus. My state votes red, always, no matter what I do. I can't afford to leave, but I believe I have never once had my interests represented by my vote. I'll still vote, because it is my duty as a citizen. My choice or yours, we all get turd sandwiches.
Blame and bully me to death if you want, but isn't there someone else more controlling, with more influence on the election who surprisingly is not subject to the same blame or bullying?
You also need to realize that just because your state always votes red, it's NOT JUST THE PRESIDENTIAL VOTE that matters. It's the local politicians that get seats in the House and Senate that matter just as much (or more?!?). Pay attention just more than just who's running for President.
