I did a rumble pedal mod on my logitech g29 using a xbox 360 controller it works really well. Its been quite the upgrade for RBR since the FFB upgrade in 1.4.2

BeamNG.Drive 0.30 adds some new content, but probably more interesting is experimental VR support and a completely rewored shifting logic.

hey all, I've been using the Buttkicker Gamer Plus for a few weeks, and I must say it's honestly been a great addition to my sim racing setup.

For those who may not be familiar with it, this device allows users to physically feel sensations through vibrations. The Buttkicker Haptic System can replicate sensations like engine vibrations, tire slip, the texture of the road, and gear shifts, elevating the virtual driving experience to a whole new level of realism and engagement.

A more in-depth review, with pictures, here!

TLDR!

  • Provides feedback where it is essential (tire slip, etc)
  • Performance Boost: Improves driving skills and lap times(I find myself at a negative delta when its turned off, eventually I get back to pace)
  • Considerations: It makes noise, so depending on living situations, it is something to consider. There are cheaper DIY options, but this is a complete no thinking solution.
  • Easy Setup: Quick and straightforward installation.
  • Customization: Fine-tune settings for personal preference, you can do this via iRacing directly or with buttkicker-provided software.
  • Optimal Feedback: with the controller, you can quickly turn it up and down which is nice
  • Verdict: Highly recommended for affordable immersion in sim racing.

You have to scroll a bit to see the announcement. Curious to see what people think of this. I am a bit reluctant/skeptical, thinking if they get it wrong it's going to mess everything up.

hey all, I have seen a couple of comments discussing foldable simracing rigs. I've had the chance to get my hands on the Next Level Racing GT-Lite Foldable Simracing Rig, so I wanted to share some insights.

If you want to dive deeper into this, check out a more detailed review with more pictures right here!

tldr:

  • Assembly: Putting it together is a breeze, and it's versatile enough to work with various setups.

  • Adjustments: You've got some flexibility in customizing your wheel and pedal positions, but the backrest angle is set in stone.

  • Comfort: It's pretty convenient, but it does make a few comfort sacrifices in the name of portability.

  • Space Savings: If you're tight on space, this rig is a godsend. It folds up neatly for effortless storage.

  • Conclusion: Looking for a robust and portable solution to bring realism to your sim racing adventures in a cramped space? This seems like a solid solution.

Is it just me, or has iRacing been feeling more like bumper cars recently? I haven't been playing iRacing for too long, so I'm curious about others' perspectives, but recently it's felt like the driving standard of those competing, even in higher splits, has dramatically dropped. I'm constantly competing with people using others as brakes for corners, taking out half the pack in like the first or second lap when acting like a hero makes zero sense. Granted I'm not the fastest out there but it feels like people's common sense to back out of a manuaver or willingness to take a corner 3 wide without changing speed or breaking zones has dramatically increased as of late. Just wanted to see what others takes are. Maybe I'm just getting to sucked in as of late and letting little shit affect me, but it's killed a lot of fun these past couple weeks. Maybe the lower splits just had more people focused on learning the craft vs people on higher splits thinking they are max verstappen, idk.

Hadn't seen this posted, but for anyone who uses Trading Paints in conjunction with iRacing you need to go in and change passwords NOW!

There was a leak of 270,000 accounts with emails/passwords in md5 format (easily reversible to plaintext)

If you use the service make sure to reset your passwords asap and if you use the password shared on other services you should make sure to change it as well

Think it turned out pretty good. Works as intended There are some more pictures and details here.

iRacing is granting all active users iRacing credits equal to the age of your account (up to 15 credits)

For example, if you created your account in August 2008, you will receive $15 in credits. Every active member will receive at least $1 in credit, even if you created your account on August 25th of this year. If you joined five years ago, you will get $5 in credit.

I'm running triples 1080 @ 75hz. Outer 2 monitors are curved. They were just monitors I had around and were not bought with sim racing in mind. so the bezel is not the same across all devices, but eventually Ill get new monitors.

Buttkicker Gamer Plus.

I just recently got the Buttkicker and man was that worth it. It adds so much immersion. I don't like racing without it anymore.

I can't wait for #VRheadsets to become so light it's like wearing glasses. #simracing is literally next level in #VR. Especially with the new #buttkicker But I can only wear the #oculusquest2 for so long before I'm fatigued. (I know some can wear them all day and you're lucky!)
Been running #VIR all weekend with the #porsche #gt4 in #iRacing on triples. Hopped into VR and after a few laps I was already negative delta by nearly a second. 🤷‍♂️

Anyone want to run the 24 hour race at Le Mans in iRacing this weekend?

Don't currently have an endurance team and just realized the race is coming up quick. Not super fast (like we know from the league), but pretty consistent and know the track/car well.

I'd prefer the LMP2, but could drive a GTE too. Only requirement is a C class license and the track/car.

Another race for me in the MX5 at Rudskogen which started as well as it could and quickly went downhill from there.

Can I recover and make it back to the podium postitons?

Hope you enjoy it!

Hey all, so I got the Buttkicker Gamer Plus over the weekend and was able to mess around with it.

What a neat experience. If you're in an environment that allows you to use something like this I would highly recommend it.

I did a quick write-up with some more details if you want to check it out.

Never thought physically feeling rumble strips via the Buttkicker gamer plus haptic feedback system would be the highlight of my day.
Really enjoying messing around with this device. It has been a great addition to my simracing rig. Review incoming

We have been running a triangle-based look for a while, and we're getting a bit tired of it, so the new look is going with more big blocks of color with triangular shapes still in the style but now more lumpy.

Our old look for comparison.

I'm open for commissions if anyone are looking to give their team a style. I can work with AC paints as well.

Back to #F4 in iRacing this week. #oultonPark is always a fun track.

Rig is a NLR F-GT. It's handled everything I've thrown at it so far, but it's struggling to keep up. The Seat on this rig has been ripped up by my cat, so a sweatshirt and a towel have gone into service covering up the very ripped leather. I plan on replacing the seat soon, so hopefully won't have that problem for more than another year or so.

Wheelbase is a VRS DFP. It's amazing and I love it. Packs quite a punch and does really try to rip your arms off at full FFB. This is paired with a CubeControls QR (Also known as the aliexpress one) and an Ascher F64-USB.

Pedals are also the VRS Pedals. Currently I only have 2 installed, but I do have the optional 3rd clutch that isn't mounted right now. The pedal plate flexes a lot more than I'd like, even with the additional strengthening kit from NLR.

Rig is a dedicated sim PC with a 11900K, RTX 3080 and 32GB of RAM. Triple 32 inch 1440p/144hz monitors round out the setup, mounted to a Rigmetal Monitor Stand.

I also have a Polsimer F74 that is no longer in use and a NLR GT Rim for if I need a round rim.

I'm happy to answer any querstions!
