If you turn on the use tor setting and 127.0.0.1:9050 is open fdroid works fine, but if only [::1]:9050 is open fdroid fails.

Does anyone know of one that works on Android 14?

I am after an app similar to Ning that is still being updated and supports ipv6 if possible.

Edit: Ning is a network scanner to find IPs of other machines on your local network.

Discovered this one today when looking for an image editing app for Android. I've used Krita on Linux before but didn't know there was an Android app!

The UI is a bit clunky on a mobile but it does the job!

Is there any good FOSS app that could record the phone GPS location, but keep the data locally on the same phone, no dialing out?

Like the Google Maps location history, just not sharing it with Google services.

first of all why

I was scrolling through aurora store and wished if i could reply to the ratings so i could help/instruct them.
We have both suitable platforms for discussions and app uploading. The only thing that hinders is the integration. With those features f-droid would be miles ahead of playstore And towards the major question.

how

idonno (notadev)

Please comment if you have ideas. Is gitlab/github/codeburg/gitea accounts enough for these kinda discussion?

Edit: can someone ELI5 to me why almost every file manager needs full network access and to see wifi connections? There must a reason..

Dear F-Droid fans, users and maintainers,

I am trying to understand the Security Vulnerability Process. It seems like if an App uses a code library with a known vulnerability, the version can be tagged with

antifeatures:
      - KnownVuln

This was broadly added in one previous Merge Request last year: https://gitlab.com/fdroid/fdroiddata/-/commit/b90b2c53e5de4d1e30c5a883eb41faa74ed6c0f7

It seems like the corresponding CVE identifiers (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Common_Vulnerabilities_and_Exposures) are not listed when an App is tagged. So a user just sees a generic warning, and needs to investigate on it's own to check the severity and details.

Any thoughts or additions?

thanks!

As reported in a reddit post and confirmed in a github discussion, Simple Mobile Tools is being sold to ZippoApps which is known for shady business practices.

It is not yet clear whether they will make the app suite closed source (which would infringe the rights of all contributors since they contributed under the GPLv3 license).

In response to that situation, one of the main contributors forked the project under the name FossifyX and will continue to work on it.

I use anysoft keyb, and i really like how it can be configured, i just wish there was an option to make spacebar even longer, or move dot out of the way there because with my short right thumb i type dot instead of space like 80% of the time and that annoys me to no end.

Really would appreciate any ideas that could solve my problem.

Now using joplin but it seems that it can just share all notes, I want to have just few collaborative note and jeep other private. Fingerscan or psw protected notes is a must have requirement. Best would be if the app is free (I mean without subscription costs) Thanks!!

I mostly use Webapps (https://f-droid.org/en/packages/com.tobykurien.webapps/) for access to socials and have quick links to services where I don't want to login every time. Don't know if there's an alternative way to do this beside use apps like Insular or other App Isolation like, don't even know why browser don't do this by create profiles or container. I mean apps are just web container most of the time, and I know the reason why service provider want let you just use their app, but what's the browser excuse? What's your approach to this considering that Webapps application is outdated?

I'm looking for an app to browse YouTube using multiple accounts. It has to be convenient to switch between multiple accounts, and keep them separate. I've struggled to find a YT client that does this well, most of them seem to advertise "Use YouTube without an account". I'd look on the app store but frankly the play store sketches me the fuck out, even though google has a "moderation system" (we all know how well they keep malware off the platform)

I'm loving this app and wanted to share it. Thanks to whoever brought the project back to life.

Trivia: I had been looking for a good app for taking notes and organizing my thoughts for a long time, in addition to this I wanted my notes to be able to be used and edited from a PC via local synchronization via Syncthing. Another fundamental factor is that it had to be both comfortable and easy to use but also capable of being structured. This new version of Orgzly covers pretty much all the points I asked for; and yes, I'm aware that I'm overly enthusiastic about it.
