Encfs is not in termux repos, nor f-droid I suspect fuse is not supported on Android, so I am looking for something similar that would support limited filesystems ideally?

I downloaded several to learn different programming languages and I have them in a directory called "Courses" and each programming language has its own directory, for example, for Bash it would be Internal Memory > Download > Courses > Bash and so on with each programming language,

The problem I have is that many of those courses are divided in more than one playlist, for example, a Bash course has 20 directories and each directory is a category of the course (arguments, variables, strings) and inside the directory has its own videos that start numbered from 1 and this is a complete disaster using the VLC Playlists function because as each directory has its own numbered video that starts from 1, VLC orders all the videos that start with a 1 in the playlist, even if they are from different categories, so mixing for example video 1 from the arguments category with video 1 from the functions category.

Is there any video player that allows me to do the same function of VLC but that allows me to separate the playlist for each directory within the base directory?

I used Signal for years and loved it, but I need SMS support to talk to, well, anyone I know. Is there a secure choice that's near-equal?

I'm looking for an app to check which app is using my battery mostly. I've a Huawei P20 on EML-L09 but I debloadet it and mostly F-Droid apps are in use. Unfortunatly the OS itself don't show me values wich are useful ( <1 sec/<1mAh for every installed app ). Can someone recoment an app to me to find my drainhole? I have a guess (AdAway) but I´m not for sure. I already have a replacement battery which work fine the last 6 month. So this shouldn't be the issue.

The app should have stats, export feature maybe cloud backup as well.

I tend to prefer "file centered" apps, there's some cool one you'd use with Syncthing? My favourite is KeePassDX; I would love a notes app with a 'material you' UI.

I seem to constantly collect calculator apps, but it might be good to finally settle on one and uninstall the rest.

One that looks nice, easy to use (ex. vibrates on keypress), and has advanced options that can be accessed as needed?

I was mostly using "Natural Scientific Calculator" as the non-FOSS option till now

What is a good FOSS Android app to scan documents and immediately convert them to pdfs? On Microsoft Lens, you can take multiple scans and also merge different ones together to create a combined PDF. Thanks

Can be either a launcher, or a specific app that hides other apps.

Does anyone know of a foss android app that will notify me if I load certain apps that I also need to use with vpn on?

I don't need my vpn always on, but I do for some apps. Ideally I'd like to be able to toggle the apps I want it to monitor.

If it could switch the vpn on as well that would be top.

Are all apps on the IzzyOnDroid F-Droid Repository fully open source? Or are there partially open source apps and closed source apps on the IzzyOnDroid F-Droid Repository?

Uhm... is it only me? My @fedilab app from @fdroid is not updating my home timeline...

I'm a cheogram user from a time, but I've noticed that began to use battery even without using it. I'm not a heavy user so, any recommendations?

I just made an app which, I believe would just be a test when I publish it to F-Droid. I just wonder if you have some ideas of how to publish it there, especially all the source code and build logs.

I want to hear your answers on this

Someone have a libretorrent alternative? Using it is taking a too much usage of my CPU and draining the battery, is like my phone is gona explode.

What is your favourite #fdroid app? Would be interested if I can discover a few new cool apps, I missed until now. Thank you already for sharing! @fdroid

I came to the idea to add more because infinity for lemmy/eternity points to a different source than the official f-droid sources

In an optimal world, all apps were reproducible https://f-droid.org/docs/Reproducible_Builds/ , but which apps are actually reproducible? How can I know and check?

(I don't mean how to reproduce the build but how to check for the info that it's reproducible?)

Useful toolkit.

The application allows you to search, install and update software directly from the release page of this software in many sources. Why do you need it?

For example, you are using an open source application that for some reason is not available in F-Droid repositories. To update it, you need to find the release page of that application, for example, on GitHub, download and install the package.

This program will do it for you almost automatically. If the link to the release page is known - add it and use it. If it is not known - use keyword search, choose from the output, use it.

TrackerControl (TC) is an Android app that allows users to track and monitor the widespread, persistent, covert collection of data in mobile apps about user behavior ("tracking"). To detect tracking, TrackerControl combines the capabilities of the Disconnect blocklist used in Firefox and our own blocklist built from analyzing ~2,000,000 apps! In addition, TrackerControl supports custom blocklists and uses ClassyShark3xodus/Exodus Privacy signatures to analyze tracker libraries in application code.

There was created a duplicate of this application in F-droid application (not site, all links from this duplicated application lead to official developer pages on F-droid site also original TC, in the application itself from "TrackerControl" nothing was changed except adding to the main screen a filter of applications working with/without internet, which is mentioned on the screen with the duplicated application.

  • Was it worth adding a separate application for the sake of application filter on the main screen and signing it as from "TrackerControl"?
  • Can it be considered as something unkind or is it an attempt to update the original application independently?

Seeing the other weather app thread reminded me of something I have been looking for.

Is there a weather app that can display forecasts of several weather services at the same time?

Like the hourly overview but first service one, then service two and so on. Bonus points if you can add services or have a good selection of them.

I've been looking for a weather app to use but every app uses AccuWeather which actually gets their data from NOAA (which is public and always free to use) and then repackage it for their own profit, so I would like to not give them any traffic if possible and go straight to NOAA. Does anyone know any apps like this?
