I think the unnamed yiffit yeen should get a name. Start with a y to keep the theme, be absurdly normal, be absurdly weird? Keep them intentionally unnamed or be named None, unnamed...

I have as much anxiety about posting as I do about talking to people I've never met (A lot). I feel uncomfortable with two word responses "nice work", "I like it". I am not an artist and have no art of my own. I don't feel like I have anything to say, and if I do, I don't know that anyone wants to hear it.

I have been off social media for a while and I'd like to make a Mastodon account to post my nsfw oriented art. What instances are best for this purpose and what etiquette rules would apply for posting adult art particularly on the Fediverse?

I want to add some consistency to the way to draw eyes. As it stands, I feel like I'm just improvising every time I try and draw them and when I finally get to a point where I'm happy with the result, I have no idea how I got there (which makes it hard to apply the same rules the next time).

Can anyone recommend a clear guide? I would love something that uses easily remembered construction lines.

Spoilers below, I want to complain, not ruin anybody else's experience with the game.

Okay, so. The main reason I play dungeons and dragons? Aside from the sense of adventure and the ability to write my own story? It's the dragons.

Now my problem is that in any and all official DnD content (and most other media tbh), dragons get absolutely fucking screwed, ESPECIALLY the good ones. It's why the ability to write my own stories with DnD appeals to me so much.

I didn't go into Baldur's Gate 3 with high expectations. I know that the idea of having a powerful force of good that isn't under player control or completely useless is beyond the comprehension of most game/show/book writers (It's really unimaginably fucking easy to have one that doesn't destroy character agency btw, just putting that out there. I can write a whole god damn essay on how to have Big Good forces that aren't fucking useless while maintaining narrative tension).

All I wanted, in the game that advertises itself on how lets you approach every problem from your own angle and with your own methods, was to be able to share a little conversation with a dragon and make sure they were okay. I didn't have unrealistic expectations. I know games aren't made around what one man wants, so I didn't hope for more than maybe three lines of dialog and an ambiguous ending where they're free and alive. I'd have been happy with that.

And Baldur's Gate 3, despite allowing you to spare, or befriend, or protect, save, speak with or at least bring some hope to EVERY OTHER ENTITY IN THE GAME, doesn't just give none of that to their one dragon that can speak. It actively goes out of its' way to make it so that the dragon has the absolute worst fate possible, significantly worse than death, will never speak to you (only to another NPC), is killed pre-adventure, has their spirit tortured for eternity, and cannot be saved, helped, or even given a ray of hope. Just. Like. For FUCKS SAKE.

I wouldn't be so pissed off it this wasn't such a common thing in games like this! But I sunk 70 hours into this game intending a little interaction with a dragon as my reward, and as far as I'm concerned, I got a flaming pile of shit thrown in my face for making it to the end. It wouldn't sting so much if they weren't the only character to get screwed to anywhere near this magnitude. It wouldn't sting so much if shit like this didn't also happen so ridiculously frequently.

Please tell me I'm not the only one frustrated with how dragons (ESPECIALLY good dragons) get treated in any form of adult media. Is it really, really so much to ask for a story where dragons don't get the deck stacked against them so unbelivably hard that even actual gods would be pretty much screwed?

When I moved to Lemmy, I saw a thing for Matrix in the profile area and checked out that and have been sitting in a furry room for like a month. I just started actually looking at it and of the only 2 active people who talk, one is an incel and the other has a nazi fetish so I noped on out. The other issue is I constantly get PM'd by underage users looking for sex RP.

Anyone have any recommendations less... Uncomfortable?

I got a report on one of my posts, It was for the mods of lemmy.ml letting them know that porn was popping up on .ml. I went and checked lemmy.ml's instances and we are now in the blocked list. I know they had a number of large communities so this is just a heads up to everyone who may have been subbed to any.

What I've been busy with lately

About three weeks ago I started renting a new dedicated server which is going to host both packmates and yiffit very soon.

Because the server isn't hosting anything yet, I've taken the opportunity to play around and try out different configurations, including ZFS, LXC containers for small services, VLANs for better isolation ( which I did manage to get working ), wireguard tunnels, improved firewall rules, security groups, iGPU passthrough, etc...

Tomorrow I'll wipe the disks, install #proxmox from scratch and make it production ready.

Then it should be as easy as loading a full backup from both yiffit and packmates to complete the migration ( but I'll announce this last step in due time).

Am excited *wags* :dogcited:

How do you manage to make your subs hidden before registration?

Is it default when using NSFW mark or there's smt special going on?

It's sure a killer feature for private teams who wants to have their own little space

Bonus: maybe you know, is there a way to make sure the community cannot be discovered and read without registration?

Is there any place for finding yiff stories? Like e621 but erotica? Ideally with ratings and such. I remember there being a couple places decades ago, but wouldn't really know where to go now.

Former Bethesda character artist Jonah Lobe helped create the Deathclaw seen in Fallout 3 and later games

Archived version: https://archive.ph/E4CXM

Full text:

The Deathclaw is one of the most feared monsters in the Fallout video games. They are able to rip apart low-level or unprepared players in seconds with their long claws and powerful limbs. But did you know that a subset of Fallout players finds the Deathclaws hot? Sexy, even? It’s true—and one of the creators behind the creatures shared their thoughts on all the Deathclaw porn floating around the seedier corners of the web.

Released in 2008, Fallout 3 is not the first game in the franchise but it reintroduced the post-apocalyptic RPG series to modern gamers. And many players coming into Fallout 3 didn’t know that lurking in its wasteland were giant, lizard-like monsters that were extremely deadly and scary. These mutated creatures appeared in past Fallout titles but were redesigned to be more menacing and powerful for Fallout 3. Bethesda artists Jonah Lobe and the late Adam Adamowicz worked together to create the new Deathclaws that would go on to scare players in Fallout: New Vegas, Fallout 4, and Fallout 76. Well, they scared most players. Some had a very different reaction to the monsters.

On August 6, an Instagram account dedicated to Fallout memes and jokes shared an image that made fun of all the Deathclaw porn that exists. The image was a screenshot of Bethesda asking for Deathclaw fan art and then comically reacting to the nasty images it received. And in the comments of this post, Lobe shared his thoughts on all the Deathclaw porn that is out there. (And yes, there’s a lot. Just know if you go looking for it, all of it is NSFW.)

“As the creator of the Deathclaw, I’ve been silently impressed/horrified at the sheer tonnage of Deathclaw porn out there…” commented Lobe.

He later retweeted a response from a cursed Fallout image account that the artist follows. The account, Draco Deathclaw, is a big fan of the creatures and shared the initial image, so they felt responsible for getting Lobe involved. The former Bethesda artist confirmed that this account had “absolutely” something to do with the response.

The Deathclaw’s creator explains why people find it sexy In an Instagram message to Kotaku, Lobe explained that he designed the Deathclaw to be “beautiful and terrifying” in a “National Geographic sort of way.”

“I gave it a hulking, long-armed physique, a toothy scowl, and lion-like eyes that regarded the player—not with hate— but as if they were food,” said Lobe.

“But some people enjoy being looked at that way—it can be, dare I say it, titillating? And if you pair that gaze with lion-like eyes and a hulking (although fit) body, well then I can see how that might, er, arouse your interest.”

Lobe also explained that Deathclaws—which he told Kotaku were his favorite monsters he’s ever created—have “soft skin” on their underbelly and a “hint of tender pink” around their noses and nostrils. He added these elements to make them seem more “realistic” but he suspects it might have also added a sense of “touchability” to monsters. And while the monster has always been a fan favorite and has even appeared in a recent Tenacious D video, he never expected people would love Deathclaws this much.

“I mean, I’m just scrolling through Google images and I’m… yeah, I guess ‘impressed’ is probably the right word,” said Lobe. “Unsettled, definitely, but I’m not going to yuck anyone’s yum.

Lobe hasn’t posted any specific pieces of Deathclaw porn on social media or YouTube, yet. But he isn’t lying. There is a “tonnage” of the stuff out on the web, along with people commenting on Reddit and elsewhere about how hot they find the large, radioactive lizards.

I don’t want to kink shame, but I’ll offer a warning: If you meet a real Deathclaw and want to fuck it, be prepared for some rough stuff. You are going to need to have an open mind and a lot of stimpacks.

“I suppose I’m grateful that at least some people out there are giving my baby some love! Still, what has been seen cannot be unseen,” admitted Lobe.

I've been putting these things together for a few years now and I wanna show them off a little bit. I originally started making them to solve a problem - I'm kinda tall, and I like having a blanket that can cover me up from my head to my feet. I hadn't found any that could do that, so I started making these 6'x12' blankets. The example here is fleece on top and flannel on the bottom!

The heart is my maker's mark. Orange because leggy.

I use twitter and I really like the furry art community on there. I also like Mastodon or related ActivityPub services.

Due to recent events lots of people search for alternatives and I feel just very frustrated see all those artists looking for Zucks Threads or Jacks Bluesky when Mastodon is right there, without a chance of a twitter situation ever happening again. They seem to avoid Mastodon like cats avoiding water.
What have we done wrong, and how can we make it better.

We've gotten over 100 sign-ups since launch, which is a massively good start, especially considering that everyone in the lemmyverse can subscribe to our communities and participate.

Now we need to keep the ball rolling to gain more and more momentum.

Here's some ideas:

  1. Go over to !chat@yiffit.net or https://yiffit.net/c/furry@pawb.social and introduce yourself. Your yiffit account gives you access to countless local and remote communities.
  2. Post your favorite artwork, SFW or NSFW (remember to give attribution)
  3. Create a new thread about your favorite food, hobbies or projects! Sharing art is only half what this instance has to offer.
  4. Create your own "subyiffit" / community and moderate it as you see fit. Carve out your own space.
  5. Help us come up with a name for our yeen mascot.
  6. Post here from any Mastodon account by simply mentioning it's name. For example @furry@pawb.social or @chat@yiffit.net
  7. Tell your friends!

Corporations like reddit are counting on our inaction to keep control, but we have a golden opportunity to create queer, authentic furry platforms, run by furries, for furries.

Let's go!
