I can personally guarantee you how nice ultrawide is and beats 2 small monitors every day. I have had one for 6 years and can't go back. Windows makes it easy to snap left and right.

I use a program called PowerToys FancyZones to divide my ultrawide monitor into 3 equal sections that I can snap to as well. I suggest checking that one out no matter what you end up going with

My main takeaway from this episode was the Romulans and Vulcans being the same and what the implications on that for Starfleet and Spock especially.

Romulans are like Vulcans? Does that make Vulcans bad? Romulans good? Spock is already the different one on the bridge? Will the rest of the crew believe in Starfleet ideals or will they turn on Spock and allow racism to rule the day.

Tie this to treatment of Japanese civilians in the US during world war 2 (something Sulu's actor was unfortunately quite familiar with). Are all members of a race bad because the governments are at war? Obviously not but this is a common refrain from the ignorant and afraid during conflicts.

Ultimately the Enterprise and the Romulan captain stop seeing themselves in terms of soldiers fighting for their side and instead as 2 people caught in the middle of the fight between their governments. The Romulan captain's sacrifice in the end exemplifies the realization. Rather than continue the conflict and drag both sides into a brutal patriotic conflict, he sees the humanitarian cost of such a conflict and therefore, the intrinsic value of life of both sides.

The episode wants to drive hope the point that people are people, no matter nationality or political conflict. At the end of the day we are all the same. Despite Stiles racism toward Spock, Kirk and by extension the Federation-idealized humanity, will have none of it.

Love all the practical effects. The tone is a little all over the place though.

The police chief is the best mean authority figure in any movie.

Was O'Brien and Bashir's friendship what eventually led to the Good Friday agreement? Historians will debate this topic for generations. (Not Star Trek Generations though)

I watched TNG first and going back to the 60s was... something. Luckily I am a huge fan of Twilight Zone and season 1 of TOS is like Twilight Zone in space.

Spock vs Bones is also a great dynamic in any TV show. There's some garbage episodes though. But that's the case for the first few seasons of all the Star Trek.

Might be best to find a "Greatest Hits" list and jump around to see if you like it first. The best episodes (Balance of Terror, the Doomsday Machine) of TOS are as good as the best in any series in my opinion.

Looks good. I'd go for 32 gigs of ram though if you can swing it. Also is there any reason why you want a 22" monitor specifically?

The reason this one should last is because ddr5 is new and so is the AM5 socket for AMD. AMD supported the previous socket from 2016-2022 so many are speculating that you should be able to do CPU upgrades for the foreseeable future without having to change the whole platform.

Oh boy! I can't wait to buy another similar single board computer with lesser software support when these all immediately go out of stock and cost 3x on eBay.

All jokes aside, I really hope there will be adequate stock for hobbyists this time around.

I'm also stoked to see what a new pi0W might bring to the table this generation with such an increase in SOC performance.

The original Twilight Zone is a rapid fire smorgasbord of the greatest Sci-Fi writers of the 60s. When I was around 12 or 13 I couldn't get enough Twilight Zone. I always looked out for marathons on the SyFy channel on Holidays.

And since it's from the 60s it doesn't have any swearing or gore or anything inappropriate for kids but there's a lot of irony and death that a kid a little older will be able to appreciate that a younger kid wouldn't.

It worries me to see another engine getting mothballed in favor of Unreal 5. With all the garbage surrounding Unity lately I don't want the industry's eggs to all end up in a few baskets. I for one don't see Unreal's prices to stay at their current rate forever, especially while Epic is bleeding money in the Epic Games Store.

Maybe with Counter Strike 2 Valve can jump back in as a relevant player in the engine space.

I'll bet his favorite episode is DS9 S4E16 where O'Brian and the Ferengi start a union to protest against Quarks unfair business practices.
