I remember when Chili's was just another corporate place at which I would never eat. Now, it almost feels like going there is a protest against obstructively expensive restaurants, with lousy parking and long waits, that are seemingly designed for out-of-state wealth-migrants.
How times change.
What if we're living in the hallucinatory dream of one of the conspiracy guys from the movie, "Slacker". He's about to wake up, and everything and everyone will be reset. If so, I'm going to set up shop at the Magnolia Cafe on Lake Austin Blvd., at the table with the red-checker, picnic-cloth pattern and the giant ants, and I am never, ever going to leave. Anyone care to join me?
Have I out-Austin-ed everyone here, yet?
