If there's one thing I've learned from American films, it's that the snakes are at prom.

Personally while I think all the tech presentations were nice I'm pretty much stuck in "I'll believe it when I can play it on live servers" mode.

This is kind of my MO since a couple of years. I am stoked about the changes and looking back I can see some of the stuff being talked about in the past slowly coming into the alpha but I will not get hyped about until I see it on PTU.

I love the engine optimisation and the realistic audio mode and to anything else I keep a healthy distance.

Friends of mine try to go every year. They say they start planning at least a quarter of a year in advance, not only to find themselves beautiful among everyone else, but also to give others the feeling, when you look out over the crowd, that the surroundings will transport you to that fantasy time.

One hypothesis is that we were not hunter-gatherers all the time, but that we tried to do what we needed to do at the time we needed to do it. We hunted and gathered, but at some point we had enough to no longer need to do so. We spent the free time we gained making art and tools (as seen in the Palaeolithic art found on excavations throughout Africa, the Middle East and Mediterranean Europe). We often cut stones with harder stones and rubbed them over the surface until they took the shape that was useful to us (as seen at Lumekwi 3 in Kenya). From then on it was probably only a matter of time before we found stones that made sound.

This is all speculation and I am certainly not in a position to make any claims.

As long as the billionaire class can live without repercussions I'm very hesitant to judge someone on taking a bath instead of a shower. We use paper straws and shower instead of taking a bath and they enjoy private jets, pools and jacuzzis. Taking a bath is not only hygiene, imho it's also a break from our everyday grind.
