Even as winter takes hold in the Arctic, sea ice there is growing sluggishly. In Antarctica, summer’s arrival has driven sea ice to near-record lows.

In particular, they're talking on Fox about the death penalty for Jack Smith, though the WaPo doesn't deign to tell us that.

In general, I'm not a huge fan of the LCFS as an approach; it effectively requires blending biofuels into gasoline and diesel. This has some serious scale limits and doesn't cut emissions as much as getting people to not burn stuff in the first place.

It's definitely possible to get a lot this way. It probably can't do enough, fast enough, on its own though — it will take government forcing the transiation to happen. Otherwise, we'll get the energy equivalent of whale blubber being turned into margarine in order to keep the whaling industry profitable.

Nah. I'm pretty well convinced a number of other Republicans could behave like this and the press wouldn't care.

I think this opens a path to prompt judicial override if they refuse to certify.

Sounds about right. Scrapie (similar disease in sheep) never seems to have become transmissible to humans, but the cattle version did. So it's worth avoiding.

I'm very very hesitant to believe in most online reviews; the product manufactures pay for a lot of them.

Just get it tested for chronic wasting disease if that's a thing in the area you live. Cooking probably can't kill that, as it's a prion disease.

Basically, bears get trichinosis from eating carrion. Something like 80% of black bears in the US. Which means that bear meat needs to be really thoroughly cooked to avoid giving yourself worms (potentially brain worms like the Kennedy who thinks he stands a chance of being in the Trump Cabinet)

A bunch of people ate undercooked bear. Possibly because they were imitating that Kennedy, or just because one guy shot a bear, didn't cook it enough, and served it to a bunch of friends.

I don't see how that gets through Congress, whereas something more like this (but with much larger amounts of capital injection) has a better chance.

More that that the conspiracy theory crowd is lying to them that the meteorologists are controlling the weather.

What people actually have are vests filled with ice. Knew a couple of people who were canvassing in the Arizona heat wearing them.
