Yeah, he was literally bragging about it on the quarterly earnings calls as it was happening. They’ve only paused the price gouging now that it’s a hot topic, don’t think for a minute prices will go back down or that this won’t resume in a year or so when there’s some other distraction available.
We need regulations to stop this predatory behavior, and we desperately need to break up monopolies like Kroger, if this problem is to be mitigated.
And so, the brown shirts are making them think twice. What a sad day for America as domestic terrorism wins.
Paul Pelosi or Gretchen Whitmer likely have something to say on the matter as well.
Should have done it during Obama’s first term, when we had the votes. But it was deemed “not a priority” after we voted them into a supermajority.
So yeah, I think your skepticism of Schumer’s intent here is warranted.
JFC, win_blows_.
Sorry, don’t know where to find PDFs on this matter, but I have a couple of good YouTube videos for you instead. If your colleague is deaf they can use CC on these.

Perhaps someone with so little self control of their utterances should not in fact get to be elected to the highest office in the land. Just a thought.
I really liked her framing in this part of the speech. Another speaker said it similarly earlier in the week.
The Republicans fight for freedom of corporations to be deregulated and pollute our environment with reckless abandon.
The Democrats are fighting for freedom of people to live and be safe in their home environment. Safe to drink water, safe to breathe the air.
Highlighting the differences in how each party conceives of the notion of freedom could be a huge deciding factor in this election, and for that matter I think it’s critical for Dems to reclaim usage of the word from the republicans who have disfigured its meaning almost beyond recognition.
I’ll choose to bend over backwards here in order to assume positive intent - Harris, as VP, has almost no power in the situation currently. Biden is literally one of, if not the most, Zionist presidents in the history of the US. Biden will never stop short of giving Israel everything and more, even as Netenyahu repeatedly embarrasses him and shows himself to be a fascist head of a terror state who considers Israel beyond reproach and above international law.
Once Kamala assumes the presidency, she will be able to act on her own authority. Let’s hope that moment brings a marked turn in American support of the unfolding genocide in Gaza. And if not, we can apply pressure on the Harris admin until she changes her tune. That wouldn’t be possible at all with Trump or Biden, so at least with Harris we have some glimmer of hope for the Palestinian people.
Historically a ceasefire means to stop killing, and it is considered broken if hostilities resume.
Baking in the resumption of hostilities is essentially negotiating for peace in bad faith. This has been Netenyahu’s strategy from the start, because he knows an end to the war means an end to his reign of power.
Hmm, I gave up on Picard after S02. Do you think the uptick in S03 is because they legitimately improved things, or because the only ones left watching didn’t know any better?
