Hey, give her a break. She's making the best of her terribly botched nose job surgery.

You know what's not a good thing? Capitalizing every word in a sentence. The rules are first word, proper nouns, and the word I.

I'm glad this is getting a 4K re-release, should be a good watch. Although, is anyone else kind of disturbed by the facial Photoshop they do on all of these old movies? Like, they were fine when they were originally released, why are we doing smoothing and youthening and all of this other stuff on the faces of the actors on the covers and the photos that still exist on the internet for these movies? It seems like a huge waste.

If this is how I find out I need to update my jellyfin I'm going to be sad

[–] bizarroland@fedia.io 1 points 1 hour ago

My point is proved.

Like I said, some people love nothing more than to reframe whatever you are saying or whatever you are doing in the worst possible light for no reason other than to make you feel bad.

If only one religion is right, then the God of that religion is either evil or an asshole or not all knowing and all powerful.

If you think about it, and all knowing all powerful God that allows a gigantic portion of his beloved children to live in complete and total ignorance for their entire lives without even the chance of ever knowing the truth would be a terrible asshole at best, and that's only assuming that he doesn't throw everyone that doesn't get the truth he didn't give them into hell forever.

Of course that only covers the abrahamic religions. I feel like Zoroastrianism would probably still be okay because as little of it as I understand it seems to be more like the world is a stage where a chess game is being played and each piece moves as it will and the battling deities over watching the game can only make so many moves each to keep it fair.

Buddhism can't really complain about it other than that it sucks that we're all currently stuck in hell and having to live tens of thousands of lives until we're allowed to get out, seems like more people should make it out as time goes by.

Either way though, if there is one true religion it would be amazing if the god of that religion would occasionally pop onto the planet and remind everybody that they exist, maybe give us the bread and circuses show to catch us back up, maybe throw out a couple of worldwide hey I forgive everybody's and then pop back off just to remind us.

A thousand years without a reappearance of the God of all gods is a long time to keep the torch burning.

I am looking forward to lighter weight batteries with larger drive range that should be coming out in the near future but I'm also holding off on getting an electric vehicle until these issues are sorted out.

Plus, one of the largest sources of pollution in the form of forever chemicals comes from vehicle tires so we definitely need to fucking work on that.

I've always been told Charles Goodyear was a really great guy and a hard-working inventor and I feel like he would be rolling over in his grave to know that the reason why so many fish are dying out is because of his invention.

Theoretically yes, but it depends on the capabilities of the police officers at the scene to deduce that the fatal accident was likely caused by the quality of your tires and any prosecuting attorneys or lawyers attached to the accident after the fact.

The modern Ford ranger is the same size as the F-150 from 2004.

Now if you want to buy a Ford ranger size truck you have to buy the Ford Maverick, which costs ~$35,000.

It's fucking madness and I don't know a single company that hasn't lost the plot.

[–] bizarroland@fedia.io 6 points 15 hours ago

From what I understand they are still affordable, the cost savings is building it yourself and having the discipline and patience to be able to do something like that on your wages.

Building a tiny home is a grueling and arduous task. There is nothing TurnKey about it.

My cousin built one because his mom lent him some land to build it on and so far it has cost him about $10,000.

That's pretty good but he lives on a truck driver's salary and he has a wife and a kid. He's deeply in debt from his tiny house project and he's almost done with it.

Once he finishes he'll be able to claw his way back up out of debt, which is good, but there are no TurnKey solutions that are also affordable.

I get where you're coming from but in my ideal world we would all work gig jobs and they would provide us enough money to live at the very least at our current lifestyle.

The 40-hour work week is a lie. It's not needed anymore, and anyone who sits down for 4 hours and analyzes our current economic system would probably agree with me.

You have gotten up onto a high horse about how I am flawed and wrong before checking whether I was on your side.

Besides, the point you are making, while it has its merits, only touches on my point. My point is enjoy what you like. If you like overnight oats just go ahead and eat them.

It doesn't mean you're a "peasant eating gruel". It's okay to like what you like.

I feel like the divide is between people who attempt to find things out for themselves and the people who rely on external sources to foist information upon them.

CAUTION SLOW

Don't get me wrong, there are problems with it, both in the process that modern AI uses as well as the sources that it draws from, however, as of right now ai is just a tool like auto-tune or photoshop.

Even though it will change the media formats that it is attached to, it will not supplant them within the next 5 to 10 years, it will simply transform them.

Fuckin magnets man

We'll just all assume that every person who gets this would make themselves early twenties with flawless skin, perfect organs, appendages and functionality, and no excess weight.

My question is, would you change yourself from your genetic baseline, and if so, how?
