As The Cradle has reported previously, Israel provided no evidence for its claims, which were part of a campaign to compel western nations to cut funding to the agency [UNRWA].

This is not true, the "evidence" was a couple of pictures on twitter with weapons covered by a tarp that said UNRWA. The source of the pictures was IDF, which are not only serial liars but stand to directly gain from the abolition of UNRWA. Imo falsifying evidence is worse than having no evidence because it pretty much disproves the claim.

Plus those who excuse, justify, and minimize the atrocities.

"Combat tested" raises the sale price, even if "combat" just means murdering unarmed people who pose zero threat. That includes all the weapons that were used against peaceful protesters at the Great March of Return. This is, imo, why Israel is farming Palestinians- to improve the return on their weapons industry, which is worth about $5 bn per year. Not to mention their tech/surveillance industry.

What a disgrace, to treat other human beings like that.

Zhang further stated that an immediate ceasefire was a “fundamental prerequisite” for “saving lives, expanding humanitarian access and preventing greater conflicts. The US draft on the contrary sets up preconditions for a ceasefire which is no different from giving a green light to continued killings which is unacceptable.”

I don't think this is what they meant by "the new normal".

And it calls for a "sustained" instead of permanent ceasefire.

Israel rejected a Hamas proposal for hostage release in exchange for an agreement that would end the war.

That's a weird way to say that people are against genocide and ethnic cleansing.

Nobody here supports Hamas. Most people here (outside the fringes) absolutely despise the thought of authoritarian theocratic rule. I mean, this is nowhere more true than on Lemmy. Maybe what you're noticing is people talking about Hamas as if they are a symptom of a problem (and a very, very predictable and historically easily verifiable outcome of a specific socio-economic and political reality) and people want to tackle the problem, not just the symptom. This is what you do when you are intelligent.

Here's a hint to get you started- the problem is Israel, specifically Zionism.

Let's see how the auto industry responds. Last time the government tried to impose emission regulations we ended up getting massive pickup trucks as a result (which obv don't have reduced emissions compared with pickup trucks that have a reasonable size and wheelbase).

Israel’s “extensive restrictions on the entry and distribution of humanitarian aid and commercial goods”, mass population displacement and the destruction of crucial civilian infrastructure.

Yes now it's at fever pitch but this has been the case for the past 50 years. Good that people are noticing it now but what a high price to pay for that visibility.

Oh wow. I didn't know that.
