I just wish the CDP (the biggest player on the left in Japan) weren't against nuclear energy. But other than that I too am pleased to see it. Maybe if they can buck their traditionalist conservative authoritarian streak, their country may finally make a dent in its persistent stagnation.
Rot In Piss, Conservatives. My only reservation at hearing this news is that the Constitutional Democratic Party of Japan, which is the second-biggest plurality after the so-called "Liberal" Democratic Party of Japan, is against nuclear energy. They seem to be on the rise rapidly since their reorganization in 2017. It would be nice to see Japan finally start moving at least a LITTLE more in a less authoritarian, less traditionalist, less STAGNANT direction.

I somehow managed to condition myself into thinking of gay as a complement term. People I hung out with in high school used to call things "straight" derogatively. Something was straight if it was boring, bland, predictable, superficially performative in a conformist manner, etc.
