I was finally convinced when steam sales were incredibly favorable.

I could either go to Gamespot and buy a used game for $20 + tax and have to deal with some sweat giving me shit about my gaming choices. Or buy that same game digitally for $10.

Around 2011, I remember not buying consoles anymore and continuing to grow my PC collection.

Around 2017, my pirating dropped significantly. I think I had like 1000+ steam games from buying so many bundles.

By 2020, I didn't pirate a single PC game, the games I bought 10 years ago still work, and I bought a game from the Microsoft Store, only to rebuy it on Steam.

I mean yeah.

I had to install some program and connect online to PLAY A SINGLE PLAYER GAME? I have the CD already and entered my CD key. Why does it need validation?

This is surely the death of PC gaming.

Learning about all the bugs that live in your hair and eyebrows made me lose a few nights of sleep.

It's actually kind of nice to see this as a JS developer.

Not like, "Oh wow this is neat!"

But like, "Finally the golden child, Python, also has some fucked up shit"

These are one of those situations that absolutely can devastate a tourist destination.

It's not just international eyes on their government. But also, news spreading that something is killing tourists will quickly turn into a panic and people traveling there. Because first, it's "just alcohol".

Having worked in childcare in college, I once had a angry child bite me. Their little baby teeth broke skin.

Humans, even without weapons, can do a lot of damage.

I'm going to trust that you're correct.

But I'm still going to duct tape the psychopath for everyone's safety, including the psychopath.

Bro, we had a petty theft at work.

While identifying culprits, my coworker, with a straight face, said to me, "The security guard is pretty much a cop, so there's no way he could have done it" implying cops are the highest form of trust.

I don't know why they thought that.

I was reading the book by Chris Broad of the Travel Abroad YouTube about his experience teaching in Japan. You're totally correct. It's really a faux pas to correct a teacher as a foreigner teaching English. So the teacher would give say the wrong thing, and you'd just nod.

Not to mention, from Chris, the Japanese tests for English are really stupid. They're teaching them with tests from the 80s, and using words that aren't common in spoken language.

Don't sit on the toilet for more than 10 mins.

You will get hemorrhoids.

But it didn't erase everything permanently.

We talk about the swiss cheese method in risk management.

This guy hit multiple layers of failure, and he absolutely could recover from it. But instead of getting help, rant about it for all of us to laugh at.

"Attention to all blacks who plan to vote for Trump," the sign outside New Era Baptist Church reads, "you are an ignorant stupid negro." The other side says, "Warning African Americans: A vote for Trump will put Blacks back to picking cotton."

Yeah this is normal?

Imagine living like this.

Oh wait school children EVERY FUCKING DAY.

The bounty itself reads that any person besides local and state government officials may sue a trans person using the restroom that aligns with their gender, with payments including “injunctive relief sufficient to prevent the defendant from violating the provisions of this ordinance; nominal and compensatory damages if the plaintiff has suffered injury or harm from the defendant’s conduct; statutory damages in an amount of not less than $10,000 for each violation of this ordinance; and court costs and reasonable attorney’s fees.”

He's finally arrested.

Minneapolis police are now facing heavy criticism for not arresting Sawchak before the shooting even though he had multiple complaints.

Members of the Minneapolis City Council, including Mayor Jacob Frey, pointed blame at the Minneapolis police department for not acting on any of the prior complaints against Sawchak and failing to arrest him immediately after the shooting. https://newsone.com/5658819/white-man-shoots-black-neighbor-minneapolis/
