Exactly. Where I grew up you would have nothing without your family, and they are all rabid believers. So the choices are toe the line or abandon it all.

None of the industry standard CAD software work natively with Linux. Just not worth it for that purpose
I wouldn't recommend apple os for CAD software. Plus you will get more computer for your money with PCs
CAD works fine on windows laptops. Look for sales at microcenter and get something with a dedicated video card. Set a budget like $1000 and start there.

It's happening in my city because we just voted for it. Previously the zoning rules prohibited it on SFH lots. Boy did the magats try everything to stop it, including bringing out old dog whistles but their only concerns was to raise their own property values. The majority was more concerned about growing our economy and keeping the cost of housing down.
