c/dogdiet stands against animal abuse
We have gotten several concerned messages about the treatment of animals in this community. In light of this, the mod team at c/DogDiet would like to announce that we are taking a stand against unethical farming practices.
At c/DogDiet we are strictly against animal cruelty. We believe that man's best friend is also man's best meal and that dog meat can be a part of a happy and healthy lifestyle.
What does ethical farming entail? Ethical farming entails a large variety of practices, so we will outline several ethical practices common in the farming of all animals:
- Maximize the well-being of dogs during their lifetime by let them eat as much as they want
- Stunning dogs with an electric current to their heart or brain before slaughter, or by inducing brain trauma with a percussive bolt to the forehead
- Keeping dogs close together in pens where they can socialize
- Slaughtering using carbon dioxide to induce asphyxiation
- Slaughtering by severing the carotid artery and jugular vein. This is usually done with the dog suspended by the leg upside down so they will bleed out faster, making death come as soon as possible
If you see any unethical treatment of animals, please do not hesitate to report it and we'll take care of it as soon as possible. Thank you!
