I have set to hide NSFW content. Still get random posts and images suggested with NSFW imagery on the sidebar. Or user account images too. I only subscribed to magazines that do not have NSFW content.

Install KES and hide the random posts in the sidebar.

@a@kbin.social I didn't think of hiding it myself. Instead installing an entire user script engine addon and this addon with enhancements, I decided to use the custom blocking feature of uBlock Origin. Now I have blocked the random posts and entries.

Yeah happened to me too. It's even worse in mobile if you accidentally scroll too far down where the sidebar is located. The whole nsfw pic takes up half the screen. It's a known issue

There seen to be a few people who post this stuff, so after a week of blocking them I rarely see anything nsfw anymore. Not perfect, but a useful work around.
