I, for one, welcome our new insect overlords.

The ant apocalypse doesn't sound all that bad to be fair. Lets give them a chance

Better than letting Republicans take over. I mean, at least the ants want to read books

[–] NakariLexfortaine@lemm.ee 4 points 1 year ago

Yeah, but will that break the history of monarchy for the ants, or will we get a large group of intelligent ants being directed by a hyper-intelligent queen?

And how will they feel about Xander Crews?

I'm up for it. Good chance they will do better than we are. Learn from our mistakes and all that. Yeah. Ant power! ✊

The bottom text should definitely be "Help avert the antpocalypse."

Right?

[–] jaybone@lemmy.world 13 points 1 year ago

But if they learn how to read, then they also will not eat in the library.

[–] Dasnap@lemmy.world 11 points 1 year ago

You want ants? Because this is how you get ants.

I legitimately think it would be rad as fuck if ants advanced to the same technological level as humans. But tiny. Imagine little ant-sized nukes. Adorable.

Don't threaten me with a good time.

[–] burgersc12@sh.itjust.works 7 points 1 year ago

[–] Infernal_pizza@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

This is how they came up with the plot for quantumania

[–] AnUnusualRelic@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Hasn't that happened already?

Oh yeah, it’s an ants world and we’re just living in it. We’re lucky they’re too busy fighting each other to be concerned with us.

[–] TotallynotJessica@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

The biggest flaw here is that ants already control the world.

[–] 3arn0wl@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Another failed author turned librarian? :/

[–] Chariotwheel@kbin.social 16 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (2 children)

What's your issue. It's a little chuckle so people pay attention to the sign.

God forbid a librarian can love their job and enjoy doing a small joke.

But wouldn't the reason it's bad for ants to read also apply to anyone else? So this is subtly implying that reading turns kids evil, not a great message for a librarian to spread... /s sorta

[–] 3arn0wl@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

It struck me as crap, frankly. "Please don't eat in the library" is enough.

[–] cm0002@lemmy.world 11 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Were you the "Teacher, you forgot about our homework" kid too?

[–] 3arn0wl@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago (2 children)

If homework is set with the expectation that it is to be done, then the counter-expectation is that it's marked promptly and returned.

However, "You Must, You Could, and You Might Enjoy" might also be made use of.

[–] VaultBoyNewVegas@lemmy.world 7 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Lol, you were that kid. Everyone else hated you 😂😂

[–] 3arn0wl@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

No idea why you'd come to that conclusion.

[–] cm0002@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago (1 children)

No idea really? Lmao, dude you're a grade A brown noser with 0 sense of humor, you need to have more fun with life

[–] 3arn0wl@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

And you appear to be fairly rude to someone you don't know.
