No. He doesn't need people to keep the platform running. He doesn't need advertisers. He needs his Russian bots. He needs news organizations to pay attention to the crap going on there. That's it.
He's richer than god and owning the platform is paying dividends.
At the same time, most people in my country that engage in politics still use Twitter. Even though they're often left-leaning. It's so annoying.

Dems (and I’m NOT one because I consider myself an actual leftist who supports free speech) tend to think that censorship is good. IMO, all it does is create more polarization and torpedoes any inroads we might’ve had toward coming to an understanding. But instead, they put on blinders and hide in their safe spaces, safe from hearing perspective to the right OR left of theirs. It’s embarrassing and a HUGE reason why we have these insipid culture wars.
