Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

LOL.

You mean the report that shows Trump's AG pick is a pedophile? That report?

More proof Republicans have, and will continue to fight for, and protect pedophiles.

Gaetz would probably argue that no, he's an ephebophile.

MAGA wants this from Johnson.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 10 points 2 hours ago

And he's doing that for reasons of principle, and family values and rule of law and so on, amirite?

Right?

The Christian charity toward sex pests is truly boundless

[–] oleorun@real.lemmy.fan 9 points 4 hours ago (3 children)

These aren't Christians, these are wolves in sheep's clothing.

[–] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 9 points 2 hours ago

These are Christians. You don't get to distance yourself from them just because they actually read your holy book, and not just the red words.

Institutionalized religion always works to protect itself. Christianity is no exception.

Are you fucking kidding me? We've got to have some reprieve against this absolute madness. What you can't be held accountable you fucks? I'm sick of this already and he hasn't even taken office.

[–] partial_accumen@lemmy.world 13 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

If recent history is the template, to be unaccountable you must be:

  • white
  • male
  • rich
  • racist
  • misogynistic

...if you aren't all of these then I'm sorry, the rules of accountability apply to you.

In a small win for Progressives, with the power wielded by Peter Thiel to swing elections and public policy, one attribute was removed from the above list:

  • heterosexual

Oh, and right wing. Rabidly right wing.

[–] breadsmasher@lemmy.world 21 points 4 hours ago (2 children)

Republican supporters will believe a demonic child sex cult is in a pizza parlour but won’t believe they voted one into office who is then protecting countless others

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 4 points 2 hours ago

It's projection. Always projection with that bunch.

[–] AbidanYre@lemmy.world 1 points 2 hours ago

Even when we have the actual venmo receipts for it.

[–] CM400@lemmy.world 5 points 3 hours ago

Well of course he did.

[–] TransplantedSconie@lemm.ee 8 points 4 hours ago

You don't need ethics to be AG! Stoopid Libs - Child Rapist Party.

[–] frustrated_phagocytosis@fedia.io 3 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

OK whatever, why hasn't anyone charged him after the initial investigation? I know you can get away with fucking high schoolers because of Christianity, but paying for sex is still a no-no in most jurisdictions right?

[–] Rapidcreek@lemmy.world 1 points 3 hours ago

There are problems with the case. The girl turned into a porn strar and is not a good witness. Another witness was found guilty of fraud and theft.
