In my point of view, Money itself is of political value.

The thing with the "store of value" is that it stands on the shoulders of libertarian thinkers or political economy. Even Marxist couldn't escape that paradigm.

The mere concept of money as a store of value have no theoretical validity. Money doesn't produce things, but things are commodified and available for money. Medicine, real estate, weapons, soldiers, whatever. Economy as a field exists into this paradigm which is flawed. Economy as we know it today, is subordinated to politics.

There is a case to be made in Economy in terms of industry development, but most of the time that's not what economist are talking about when we cover the topic (Check out Thorstein Veblen, or the Capital as Power works). It's all about the finance. Crypto is fake money and money is fake. There is no "store of value" in the sense that you are talking about my friend.

I want to invite you to check out those works.

It is staggering for me to see that many people in the United States doesn't even know what being 'American' in a sense of patriotism means. I mean not in a sense of collective identity in a territory, but in the sense of what it means in terms of politics. It is, in the end, the side that matters: Banana Republics, Israel, Plan Condor, etc.

So if you are American, it is important to me that you understand that, like any person living under a state, you should be always aware about politics. It is the way we decide, it is the thing that gives money its value and the sphere were the question 'violence to who' is chosen. I pretty much became an anarchist because I studied the history of Chile, I lived in Venezuela when Hugo Chavez won the elections and like many others escaped from the hunger that came as consequence both of the historical problem with agriculture in the region and the economical block from USA.

I want you to understand and support the guys that today are working towards a better world for EVERYONE. The reason why I think Solarpunks got their heart in the right place when people dream about these societies of justice, harmony, creativity and vigorous love for the well-being of humanity and everything it depends to exist. So keep up the good work you guys who already are taking the step to influence culture, the ideas that cause political action, that mobilize people to work toward this obviously better direction of the future against doomerism, and Hobbesian views of the "natural order of things". Our lives may depend on it, both from Latinos and the rest of the world.

To add to your nice post, I'll share a poem by Xu Lizhi before he unfortunately decided leave this world, it is called "I Fall Asleep, Just Standing Like That" (here's the source). I think it expresses why a world free from stress and anxiety is needed:

I Fall Asleep, Just Standing Like That

The paper before my eyes fades yellow

With a steel pen I chisel on it uneven black

Full of working words

Workshop, assembly line, machine, work card, overtime, wages...

They've trained me to become docile

Don't know how to shout or rebel

How to complain or denounce

Only how to silently suffer exhaustion

When I first set foot in this place

I hoped only for that grey pay slip on the tenth of each month

To grant me some belated solace

For this I had to grind away my corners, grind away my words

Refuse to skip work, refuse sick leave, refuse leave for private reasons

Refuse to be late, refuse to leave early

By the assembly line I stood straight like iron, hands like flight,

How many days, how many nights

Did I - just like that - standing fall asleep?

Something I'm very glad has happened is: we live in the best time possible to make collaborative work than ever.

The problem that many horizontal societies have experienced in history is their lack of technology to defend themselves. But in the world where there is internet to share knowledge and appropriate techniques to construct green industries. Making the reality of abundance for everybody closer than ever. And everything thanks to, mostly, public and social knowledge.

I can't quite put into words how much I love this piece. Thanks for sharing it :)

This is nice. I like it 🙂 , hope to see more in the future !

Totally. Let's change the world, and be the change we want to see in the world. And of course, understanding the complex sociological problems that lead people to not be able to afford Eco-friendly solutions while looking for ways to make that change possible. 🤗 Direct action is the way to go, voting is more of a "support" tool to kinda move the needle.

Indeed. Yet, hope to live in a green and tolerant society is never dead until we "the greens", "the anarchists", "the socialists", "the terrorists", "the hippies", are all dead.

Hopelessness gives space to inaction, and the power to change things requires being active. I firmly believe in the people, like you, who cares and take action. Hence, is reason enough for me to keep on fighting: connect means and ends. It is possible that we'll die and we'll still not be where we want to be, but the mere act to organize and work on this project is to make the idea a material reality. It will make easier for more people to follow.

My friend, let's not give more space to hopelessness, since the work we have to do is to not let it grow. And if we can, even plant the seeds of hope like the Ejercito Zapatista de Liberación Nacional (EZLN) or Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) show us. Or even, in the case for Brazil, Movimento dos Trabalhadores Rurais Sem Terra (MST).
