This is the way
Well, that sounds like I need to try it. Reminds me of the macaroni and cheese KFC bowl. Have you had that?
Before I had a wife (who actually cares about me). I would make a casserole with wide egg noodles, chicken, peas, maybe another veg, mixed with a combo of cream of mushroom soup, couple eggs, and topped with a generous layer of cheddar..
Iβm told this is not good for you, but it is delicious and has enough variety that I can eat it every day.
That sounds like so much work but also much more delicious haha. I might try it out, like a more bougie version of my go to.
It is about 1 hour to get it in the oven, but food for days.
Oof yeah as much as I wish I could do something like that since it sounds convenient I just likely wouldn't ever :(
I think it sounds hearty and nutritious. Usually when people say "not good for you" it's because they're scared of fat. Ultimately, you could argue either way but I'm on the side of you eating something that feels good to you. Back when I was trying to be super fit and slim I was miserable most of the time and it didn't even really work. Granted, if you start to have health issues you could maybe try to substitute elements of it but I think it sounds like a really good choice
I actually had to start eating more fat because the "normal" fat diet (not even low fat at that) I had was making my stomach ache. Started putting more fat on everything and it's all good now. I'm even actually dieting and losing weight - cut out a lot of sweets instead and I'm eating less of everything. But with more fat.
That doesn't surprise me. I'm pretty sure the sugar lobby was one of the main pusjers behind the major low fat diet push in the late 90s/early 00. Ever since they started moving away from the good fats, everything is suddenly so full of sugar
Iβve noticed this specifically with the no fat half and half.. switched back to the good stuff.
No fat half and half?? Isn't that basically just skim milk with extra steps?
Yeah I do so much better aiming for lower carbs and no sugar... When my will power is working
I bought macaroni cheese from the supermarket today, serves ~~2~~ 1. It's usually Chicken and Mushroom Pot Noodle and Frazzles.
It serves however number-of-people-hungry I am, thatβs what it serves.
I have a couple.
Sometimes just rice, furikake or whatever it is, sesame seeds, and spring onion. If fancy I toast the rice.
Sometimes kimchi pancakes, or chickpea flour pancakes. They come together quick and are relatively nourishing.
Often a slow cooked chilli non carne or bolognaise. It's lazy and healthyish
And on zero function days I just pressure cook lentils with rice, heat oil with random spices, then pour it over the protein and carb mush.
I like food too much to have just one haha
Peanut butter and banana sandwich.
I tend to go for the more typical instant noodles and junk food, but I've recently taken to mashed potato as a healthier option.
Crackers and cheese, my guy.
I've had the same cereal for breakfast for the last 2 years. Eventually I'll find a different cereal, but not today.
I think maybe potato soup.. and not from a can. HOMEMADE potato soup. Especially one my grandma makes...yum!
Chicken and broccoli Alfredo made from scratch (except the noodles)
I just made this today too! Homemade Alfredo is so easy and so much better than jarred
Nuggs and fries, or cereal. My guts hate it.
coffee and crackers.
if i want to cook. scrambled eggs and reheated rice
Popcorn, the cooking process of getting the corn seeds and throwing then in a pot, and just taking a moment to my self to think as I make em. Then I go back to whatever I was doing but now with popcorn :D
Nachos, pasta, or fries
