Techmoan immediately came to mind when I saw this.
Cassette Futurism
Welcome to Cassette Futurism Lemmy and Mbin Community.
A place to share and discuss Cassette Futurism: media where the technology closely matches the computers and technology of the 70s and 80s.
Whether it's bright colors and geometric shapes, the tendency towards stark plainness, or the the lack of powerful computers and cell phones, Cassette Futurism includes: Cassettes, ROM chips, CRT displays, computers reminiscent of microcomputers like the Commodore 64, freestanding hi-fi systems, small LCD displays, and other analog technologies.

That looks so cool, now I want one.
AKAI were wizards back then
I had a small bookshelf cassette/CD stereo base by them. The sound was AKAI.
...my wife had a walkman which folded down to the size of a cassette case...
That is beautiful. It looks like it could turn into a robot and start talking to us.
I wish it could.
That is cool as hell, my cassette player was just a black bandaid shaped blob of plastic and metal.
Now that Techmoan has featured it grab one quick before the price goes up.
It's cool, but I'll pass. Need to save my money for things like shelter, medical care, and food.
