Irate Uruguayans have demonstrated in the streets throughout the crisis. They are angry at the country’s huge beef sector, because a typical cow drinks 40 liters of water a day.

People will run out of water before cows, thanks to animal agriculture

Intensive agriculture and our economic system at large is going to screw us all everywhere: it causes climate change, and it also prevents (not rich) people to adapt to it. So fucked up.

NYTimes gives you X free articles until they put up a paywall. I have a pay wall too.
