TLDR: Warner Bros has a remake of Salem's Lot sitting on the shelf. It even has an endorsement from Stephen King and had two good test screenings.

Its original release date was Spring 2022.

Why bother? WB doesn’t release movies, they kill them.

Yeah, they are going to write this one off too. Then Amazon will announce their Dark Tower adaptation from Mike Flanagan, interest in all things Stephen King will skyrocket and Warner will look like idiots. Again. (See also: Destroying Batgirl, a movie costarring Brandon Fraser that would have released in the same year as his Oscar win. A movie that, by all accounts, was also great.)
