Hi, can you help me with a math problem kbin? It's algebra, and it's been a long time since I've had to do it. Can you explain to me how simplifying the terms comes out to 9/2 in the pictured equation (media.kbin.social)

x + 3x + 0.5x = 4.5x

4.5=9/2

Whoever solved that problem liked using improper fractions. Whatever works for you is fine. I prefer thinking in decimals for halves, which works out easily for this problem.
