I don't think Lemmy is capable of handling multiple attachments, but I'd love to be wrong on this one.

Yea iirc there was an issue where the dev said post images are just links (and each post can have one link) and they're not intending to change that (which makes it impossible to add alt text for those and also will not federate to other servers as images)
