I have a friend who keeps repeating herself over and over again and dwelling on something that hurt her in the past. I want to be there for her, and I don't want to be dismissive, but I've heard the same thing so many times.

How can I gently remind her to live in the present?.

even better is to make plans for the future ( this is cbt 101 )

so ask her what plans she has, doesn't have to be world shattering, it could be anything, but make sure it's a definite thing
